i ordered a XG15 and i would be collecting it in 3 weeks. very good customer service. i am disappointed that they don't produce anymore gamut screens for 17 inch... if not i would have bought the 17 inch laptop.

I think they should still have the 17 inch glossy high gamut panel no?

To be honest, I do agree that it will be great to see more matt gamut screen. Only option now is the 72% gamut matt panel.

Enjoy man. ;)

Hi Marcus and team, just a little curious if Clevo actually do have BIOS that allow for some level of voltage controls or such? Not planning to overclock, but was hoping to achieve some undervolting on my laptop, mainly on the memory. Trying to experiment how much battery life I can save by shaving some power off the memory.

Current version of BIOS offer very sparse options.

Hi ken,

I'll drop you a pm on this later today :)

Hi I just checked your website and it listed your "showroom" at funan. Can I check if I can actually walk into that shop and buy a laptop, or is it just a place which showcases your laptops and I still have to order it online?

I think they should be able to do the order for you there on the spot

Yeah, you have to understand that they allow you to customize everything, so it's not possible for them to have it on the spot. Even so their assembling is really fast, much faster than if you were to customize, say, an Alienware laptop.

But it's order only also? So there's no where I can go to just buy it and bring home?

Nope no off-the-shelf purchase. They need to assemble the components, and then run it for 2 days rendering a furry donut to stress-test the system.

Then there's also need to factor in whether the notebook is in stock, or the number of pending orders to fulfil. If all things are in your favour I'd say around 4-5 days between order and collection.

Yeah they're really efficient. I ordered my on a Sat and got mine on a Tues (and that includes the non-working Sunday). Of course that was pre-IT show so it would be more reasonable to expect a longer waiting time now :)

I just noticed the COMMEX deal for the x15s is exactly the model I want but if I were to order now it'd cost 300 dollars more... Is there anyway I could still get that deal? :(

Sad.. Missed comex due to an overseas trip, guess I'll wait for the next "deal" on the xg13 or newer model? Hopefully my current desktop setup can handle FFXIV smoothly on medium or something

AFTERSHOCK X15s comex deal

Hi aftershock! after reading all these wonderful posts, I hope you can assist me with my gaming laptop..

Actually I was deciding whether to get the Asus G750J or AFTERSHOCK X15s but I saw the awesome graphic card that was given in aftershock so I think i'll go for your laptop.

I'm planning to buy a gaming laptop this end of month, and I already decided to go for after your AFTERSHOCK X15s. I wasn't able to attend the recent COMEX due to busy full days of week work

still possible to get any deal or discount maybe? if not. can pm me the price and the packages / specs that comes with it. thank you!

:D i wonder what is the maximum temperature for Haswell processor and GTX 780M after 30mins of benchmarking or full load for 2hours?

well, the good thing about 780m, and the newer chasis, is the cooling is much faster, not better.....as it churns out heat as fast as its predecessor, i say, its just more efficient imho.

I had my fair share of gaming at ultra, hence, when i've stopped, i've noticed that it took a mere 7 mins plus to cool down to 50~40 plus, of course, the fan bios is preconfigured to throttle once it senses its at optimal and acceptable range, then it will increase the rpm....last for a few seconds, then fan down....which imho, much be better off to have a good full 20 sec 5400rpm, then another 30sec wait and fan down....

Hmm, my current notebook after changing the thermal paste, i still get about 89-95 in my CPU and 70+ in my GPU, while in max load after 2 hours.

I'm squeezing my budget but still enough for a 780M graphic card.:s13:
After compare to quite a numbers of notebook, now i end up thinking just go for the Temperature, I recently watch the review of GentechPC on the Asus G750JH, the temperature from the notebook is Outstanding. But the price also.. pretty wow~ in SG, and unlikely to get their service better than Aftershock.

So now back to X17S and X15S :D i don't mind a hundred more in cost if the X17S got better cooling than X15S. But still i need to know how high it get after 30mins of benchmarking / 3 hours of game play

temps

I believe the X15S has one of the best cooling systems for a system with a 780m GTX.

Anandtech recently did a review on a system based on a clevo chassis with a similar chassis. I believe ken did link that review, you can check out the comments on the cooling system there.

Great review from Anandtech on the Clevo laptop. This similar to our well known Aftershock X15S. :D

AnandTech | Mythlogic Pollux 1613 / Clevo P157SM Review

As for X15S vs X17S, its similar, though with a larger body, the x17s is lower in temp by 1 or 2 degrees.
