This is kind of a funny thread..

TS obviously has no money problems, come here to ask for advice to build a kick-a$$ rig, but everyone here is saying things like 'buy only if you need' etc lol.

Not everyone needs to save money on an item like a computer, if everyone only buys what they 'need' then the only computers sold would be Core2Duo with low-end graphics cards lol.

I have almost no need for the extra computing power but I buy it because... err... because I can!

Computers are just a toy for the most part for some people, let the guy have his fun instead of asking him to 'buy cheaper! buy cheaper!' For some people, buying cheaper is PRECISELY what they want to avoid! Cheers!

get a decent casing such as sliverstone FT02 / corsair 600T/650D/750D / Fractal design R4 .. you will never regret on that.

All these casing do last you quite a few upgrade along the way and have good airflow to ensure good cooling performance within the interior, and most of all, they does come with good cable management neat and tidy.

Get at least a PSU with 80+ gold certified to ensure high power efficiency and power saving , thus allowing the PSU to last. perhaps consider at least 660watts 80+ gold PSU for seasonic X series or Corsair HX series...

Nothing wrong with advising ts to build what he need, that's what we called good advice. Those who urge him buy whatever his heart felt, we call those salesmen who earn Commission for a living.

This is a diy forum, not a place fir salesmen to peddle their goods. If forumners here advise people buy anyhow or spend anyhow, that's not professional and also irresponsible. Anyhow, it's responsible suggestions people provides here. Up to ts to decides what he wants to spend his money on.

Not wrong to advise, but some posts really the attitude kinda sucky imo..

Besides, TS already say dream machine in his first post.

It's need vs want.

Like you buy car. A normal civic or Lamborghini. A normal car can already take you places in SG, but people still dream of Lamborghini and those that can afford, will buy, even though they won't maximise the full potential of that car here.. :s13:

So, it's not about being a salesman or what, unless TS stated he NEED a pc, not a dream machine.

at the rate games are bring developed and improved
i can see it being trash in 2yrs :s13:

nah, by next year 2600k and 7970 can still handle BF4 at without AA at high- ultra settings on 1080p. even my rig on the right can play bf4 at high- ultra settings @ 5760x1080

Game developers will develop games that are more efficient over the years. What's the point of developing games where only current high end rig can support? The sales figure will be really bad.

To be honest with you what koi say is true. An K series be it 4770 or 3770.

After 2 years it is really bullshyt. The real eye turner and not trash will be the LGA2011 board and Xtreme CPU.
