We were the first and still the only provider to not implement any form of caps on International bandwidth. We do no traffic shaping or engineering whatsoever.

thanks for sharing, is there any stats or test that you can share? pingtest/speed test on international server? :o

Sorry but in all reality how does a ping or speedtest.net show that we dont have caps or traffic shape? Speed test results are single threaded and do not show a true reflection of the throughput your can get.

Come down to our showroom. Plug your own machine in if you dont trust our machines. Run your favourite torrents and see for yourself.

Netrounds BBQ is a speedtest that does pretty well because it's multi threaded, but yeah, the BT experience on VQ network is unrivaled.

As far as I know all VQ plans come with 1 static IP. however you can subscribe for extra static IPs(8 static IPs) at an extra cost/recurring subscription.

As for their price plans its available at http://www.viewqwest.com/price-plans/ unless they have any special plans to offer for HWZ users.

Price plans | ViewQwest Pte Ltd

All plans are static IP with no port blocking, and free **.fibernet.sg domain on request;

Additional 8IP is a VAS at $50/month but you will need a router that can do a routed LAN (non-NAT) eg MikroTik, Cisco enterprise routers, Ubiquiti EdgeRouter, etc.

IPv6 is available on request and is a static /48 subnet, which is larger than the standard /64. IPv6 is free :)

The phone is connected to their ONT which is the Zhone2426.

You can call in and out as thou it is a normal home line. for the number, Viewqwest will randomly generate you one, and as of now they don't support number port in from Singtel/SH. As far as I know. :s22:

I can retire liao, got you around :3

Anyway — yup no number portability. IIRC number portability can only be done by full telco operators, pure ISPs cannot do number portability due to some regulations.

Then it should be fine, the digital voice or whatever you call it operates on the ONT level. Thus it can still be connected.

Example of set up :
Fibre Terminal Point(Wall point) -> Zhone2426(ONT)*Phone is plugged in here* -> Your Router.

The Zhone2426 can be requested to be running in bridged mode, meaning all network requests etc be sent to your router instead. you just have to make a call to VQ and provide your router mac address or email noc@viewqwest.com.sg

From the above, the Zhone2426 functions for only your Digital voice, everything else is routed to your own router.

Unless of course, you meant to have the telephone connected to your own router instead.

my current configuration is ONT-> router
if I were to sign up with VQ does it mean that my configuration will be:

ONT - port 1 -> router (my existing)
ONT - port 2 -> VQ modem -> router?

how long does it takes to activate?

Basically if you're NEW to viewqwest, they would take up another port on your FTP(Fibre Termination Point) if available....

Meaning...

FTP port 2 -> ONT(VQ) -> Router
FTP port 1 -> ONT(Old ISP) -> Router

Simply put, ONT is ISP exclusive, meaning port 1-4 on an ONT is only meant for that particular ISP's services....(Which wasn't how Fibre was communicated to us 4 years ago. 4 years ago it was said that 1 ONT 4 RSP... but... nayyyy)

So all in all, you will get a new ONT. and you need to activate port 2 of your FTP(Fibre Termination point)

Assuming no cock up etc, should be within timeline of 1-3 weeks.

Currently i only have 1 FTP port in my living room, so if I were to take up VQ, Opennet will do all those drilling and stuff again for another FTP port?

Yes, my understanding is that the ONT belongs to Opennet and that of 1 ONT 4 RSP etc.

It seems pretty inconvenient for consumers to have multi service providers etc >.>

I was hopping to have a smooth transition by having 2 ISP before terminating my existing one.

By right 1 FTP should have 2 port.So by right you should be able to use the 2nd one for Viewqwest without need for installation. But if, like my previous post, IF there is a cock up, and you need 2nd FTP it costs 220 and even more delay time to get the connection up.

so my own router will handle the wan static ip?
