If you are asking for a suitable indoor antenna for dvb-t or dvb-t2 reception, then any indoor antenna meant for UHF reception (such as those that you have seen in this thread), will be suitable provided the indoor signal is strong enough. But if you are asking for one to receive analogue tv, then I say none is suitable for your situation.

Ok , Thanks.

Scanned and detected pay-tv signal. Star sports, fox etc. Cannot view and signal was scrambled. Maybe we will have sports channel over the air soon with payment.

did you place it indoor or outdoor to receive local T2? Does Malaysia has DTV? Thought only Indo, but those are not HD anyway.

An antenna is required to receive any terrestrial tv signal. No additional one is needed, if your present antenna, be it outdoor antenna or matv, already carries the dvb-t2 signals.

Yes, if the situation is the opposite.

Would putting an outdoor antenna (those pointing ones and bulky) indoors help in reception?

I assume this question is for the reception of analogue tv signals.

The first requirement for good analogue tv reception is clear line of sight between the trasmitter and the antenna. So the outdoor antenna used indoor have to face the window in the direction of the transmitter with no obstruction in between. Otherwise, you may have to move the antenna around to aim for reflected signal. You can only tell the result by watching the reception on the tv screen, just as you would when using an indoor antenna.

Installing an outdoor antenna on the roof top also need to locate a good spot. Using it indoor makes it much harder and good result is not asured.

You may wish to try my prototype which I just made:

Step 1, strip off about 12 cm of insulation from one end of a suitable coaxial cable, as shown
cbUXHsK.jpg

Step 2, separate the centre conductor and the screen wire and twist the screen wire together. There is no need to remove the insulation of the centre conductor if there is no copper foil or aluminum foil covering the insulation. Bend the centre conductor and the screen to form a "T" as shown

The results of the reception as used for my Draco in the living room:

Chan 27 >90/98 (Signal Intensity/Picture Quality)
Chan 29 >90/98
Chan 31 >90/98
Chan 33 >90/98
Chan 38 >60/98
Cross post here for awareness of my prototype DIY indoor antenna.
