I bought the homeworx antenna from amazon. Not too bad but need to get the adapter for the connector from sls to connect to my tv card. So far still ok. I will observe for a few more weeks and see how

My TV is DVB-T2 ready , can i just get the AC Ryan PlayON! DVB-T2 Booster Antenna to receive digital channels ?

Does the antenna requires its own power source ?

Where can i get it at $29 ??

Hello! The antenna is connected to the TV..it doesn't require its own power source.

If you are interested in getting an antenna for your DVB-T2 ready TV, you can drop me a pm. My dad has been in the TV service industry for more than 20 years :)

The $29 acryan active antenna can get from slsquare shops--saw it at laser n bizgram.
However it is powered by the acryan dvbt2 set top box when the antenna is plugged in.
So if yr settop box is not acryan or if it is a dvbt2 built into yr tv, check that it can supply power thru the antenna plug to the acryan active antenna.
I was about to get it but the 2 shops keep telling me it has to work with its own acryan settop box. Didnt understand why till I search the forums and found thats bec it does not come with separate power adapter to power it.
(But I find that my generic settop box, when I checked, it has the function provided to turn on power to antenna thru antenna port! Whether it really does it, I haven't confirm).

i using the ac ryan setup box and the ac ryan booster antenna.

the booster antenna gets the power supply directly from the antenna port on the ac ryan setup box. no need to plug into an external power supply.

the ac ryan setup box has a function which lets you select if you want to deliver power to the attached antenna.

for the booster antenna to work, the setup box need to supply power to it. normal type of antenna no need any power.

Anyone here got this issue? :(
I have a Margon Combo 5.1 antenna, TV is Samsung UA55HU9000K
When watching HD5/8, at first it is ok, then for a while picture start to jerk, like getting not enough signal.
Then when i switch to other channel and back (ie from HD5 to HD8, then back to HD5) it is ok for a while, then start to jerk again....
I have been playing around with the TV trying to see whether there is a function to show the signal strength, but i think this TV does not have this function.
I read from this thread, that can get Skycom And request Technician to check, anyone can advise or got experience on this?
Btw, i am a bit blur, there are two HD5, one is Ch1, another one is channel 801, exactly which one is the correct one?
Thanks in advance!

I am using the AC Ryan Playon Live! setup box.
When in my parent place at Bukit Purmei, I need to dangle out the booster antenna at the window in order to get a better signal.
However, I tested the same set using the miserable antenna that came with the set at my own place at Havelock View, I place the antenna 90' on my TV conside side (which is concealed near my full length window), I can get all channel at 90% signal intensity and quality. Weird...

yes when use remember to switch it on will see red led light at the mini box attacted to the rectangle antenna.

weird , my small room behind kitchen received well even you move the antenna around perhaps because window is wide open ..there

but irony place in living room sometime intermittence ....some time don't

in front my living room is main road .

place the antenna is near the window

overall can see lah picture good
just that once a while intermittence signal hang will feel tulan and reposition the antenna at the window can liao.

note antenna boaster is turn on.

I check the MDA site it mention my area is in green mode , Indoor Reception .

I thought " if " they mention this by right you move your indoor antenna anyway even inside you r room signal should be ok.

Good for those looking for cheap and good. This is similar to those previously sold to receive TV3. For those thinking of receiving VHF signals, they would be disappointed.

Hi everyone,
I am very new to digital TV and there are a lot of information here I am trying to dig out and digest.

TV: Philips 46PFL5008D/98
Antenna: wall
No. of Digital Channels received: 177
Watchable Digital Channels: Channel 5 & HD, Channel 8 & HD, Channel News Asia & HD, Channel U, Mediacorp okto & HD, Suria & Suria HD, Vasantham & HD (total 13)
*the rest are scrambled programs
No. of Analogue Channels Received: 10 (TV1, Supersports Arena, Channel 5, Starhub Channel, Channel 8, Suria, Channel U, Indian channel Vasantham Mediacorp okto, CNA, Starhub 743.35)

May I know if I get a DVB-T/DVB-T2 antenna (eg. Margon Combo 5.1, 2 or NewMedia Solution Active Digital TV Antenna), will I be able to watch the scrambled programs?

Thank you.

Your TV seems to be only for receiving DVB-T/DVB-C only leh. So going by what your TV are receiving, those scrambled signals are actually from the StarHub's antenna box on the wall. So that means your TV is receiving this channels by DVB-C already.

Buying an external antenna will not add extra channels to your reception since the air's DVB-T channels are only channel 5, channel 8 and channel news asia.

There is no need for u to buy external antenna.
