Price still rather steep compared to M1 (when the latter also provides ASUS RT-N66U router for free)

Yeah, $65 for 300mbps.. But then again, the experience before that is different though. At least for me when i jumped from ST to MR...

Guys. Just a small tips.

Choosing the right ISP is a pain in the arse.

Not every ISP will give you what you want. Due to the physical limit of what each ISP can do and provide.

There are no guarantees. Each customers has their own point of view and also each customers results will varies depending on locations.

Doesnt mean that 1 person says MR in tampines is good does not mean that another person must follow. Doing so will only lead you to signing up for the sake of signing up.

Go ahead for ISP that has trial packages. Such as trial usage for a certain months. I know green camp has it (not sure of now). If you plug in and find out the speed is ridiculously slow for a certain timing. Then dont sign the package.

Another way round is if you are adventurous ask your neighbours ISP. Are they getting the speed that they subscribe for? Jot down and do a site survey of who uses wHich ISP and how much are they getting. By writing down you can confirm roughly which ISP to go for. Most likely you will see a pattern such as, lots of same ISP = slow speed, different ISP = mostly getting the speed that they paid for.

But always take note. It is a shared resources. Even for now if the bandwidths that you subscribe for is good, it does not mean that it can be good for the next 2 years. It could be more subscribers are using at that area. Or it could be infra got problem.
