I have used VQ for more than 2 years. Started off with a non-contract plan and converted to a 24 month plan after 6 months. If you are concern about technical support, you will love VQ. 8 out of 10 times, they answer quickly and will walk you through your problem. If you are not technically inclined, they will be happy to teamview to your site. They also do follow up rather well when your case is not closed.

Word of warning though.... Once you start with VQ, it is difficult to go back to the old Singtel, Starhub experience. For example.. Have you ever tried telling Singtel or Starhub that your performance is laggy and ask them to try improving it? These guys will test it out and improve it on the spot, if it is within their means.

Love the performance, love the support and love the regular upgrade of services. Nothing beats it at the moment.

Try their non-contract plan if you are uncertain. You can upgrade anytime you wish.

Cheers.

Exactly. So many times I called VQ, even 3am in the middle of the night and an experienced technician was on call that actually KNEW HIS $HIT and could resolve problems on their end.

As compared to Big 3 CSOs who just read a script and tell you to restart your router all the time.

I've had some issues with the latest BBC Media Player too.

Currently a tested solution is to use the latest available iPlayer, but previous version of BBC Media Player:
iPlayer = (Latest) 3.0.0.587 Version
BBC Media Player = (Older) 2.1.1 Version

Apps for Android TV Boxes and Mini PCs: BBC iPlayer & BBC Media Player

I was on these versions, but live TV streaming is intermittent at best, and fails to even start streaming most of the time.

Most issues that I've experienced with Freedom VPN is on live TV streaming, and not the playback of historic programmes.

Does not work at all: cBeebies, CBBC
Requires multiple retries, fails to connect more than half the time: BBC 1, 2
Works: Alba, Parliament
Untested: BBC 3, 4

By the way, ticket was raised via email 5 days ago. Status update requested 2 days ago.

No news nor even a ticket number even to date.

What's happening there?

Sometimes I think VQ also needs to invest in a proper ticket support system.. :)

VQ also needs to implement a proper online payment system instead of Giro and photocopy credit card.

It is so slow and inflexible.

Please PM @viewqwest or myself your subscriber name or email address. Must go whack people already.

@SNAG there is a proper system in place and process as well. As well as actions taken against staff who dropped the ball on emails.

VQ billing department seriously needs to buck up. I just moved house recently and was told there will be a charge for relocation since its imposed by OpenNet. Fair enough. My monthly subscription is $85.30.

On 1 May I received an email saying invoice due date was 8 May and invoice total amount was $85.30. But when I opened the PDF it said:

Total current charge $85.30
Total amount due: $192.30

If the current charge and invoice total amount is $85.30 how can the amount due be $192.30? Simple logic, something does not add up!

I am on Giro so on 3 May I received an email saying thank you for payment of $107. When I opened the PDF it said:

Relocation charge $107
Total current charge: $107
Total amount due: $85.30

Again, if the total current charge is $107, why is the total amount due $85.30? And if the total amount due stated in 1 May email was $192.30, why was my credit card charged only for $107?

Wouldn't it make more sense to send me a bill with the total current charge AND the total amount due being $192.30? And then after the Giro goes through, send me an email saying thank you for the payment of $192.30 and since bill is paid, the total current charge AND total amount due would be $0.

I've said this before I'll say it again. VQ internet speeds are great at least for me. The free upgrades from Raptor 300 to permanent 300 to permanent 500 Mbps were amazing. So far customer service has always replied to my emails. NOC can be a little slow to reply but problems are always solved.

However the billing department is really messy. Have had so many problems with them from my initial sign up to my change of payment mode to when my parents moved house and again now when I moved house. VQ should seriously look into revamping the billing department.

Any updates

Hi,

I called your helpdesk tonight again as you have not replied.

Using the previous version of mytv 3.0.5 for live HD Jade, the broadcast is live but with the upgraded 3.0.6, the same broadcast is 1/2 hour delayed.

I checked with TVB and the replied below was no abnormal observed.

I can only think is the pointing of the server by your HK counterpart that has not update TVB changes.

Can you please check and let me know as when TVB stopped supporting 3.0.5 and I will be affected.

It has been 3 weeks since I have brought this matter to your attention.

Thanks

Heya, do drop cs@viewqwest.com with the above situation and they'll adjust as necessary with the billing department and ensure it doesn't happen again.
