A liver test should take less than two hours (personal experience with another community cat).

Good luck!

Thanks IronMac, we need all the luck we could get and pass on to little Tabby.

The 1st blood test was abt 20mins, the vet told us that she has abnormal white blood cell count, she directed us to look at the PLT (or ALT can't remember correctly) figure which she told us is indicative of suspected liver problem. What the vet concern is that Tabby may have what they call Triaditis and also inflammation of the bile ducts. Tat is why she recommended to do a blood test for pancreatitis which was being done yesterday. For bile ducts she recommend we do a scan to check if the ducts are blocked or not after the result for the pancreatitis blood test returns from oversea.

Go the local DIY and look for stools if that will help.

If you worry about her slipping then you can always glue washcloths or towels to the stool.
Good idea. Maybe i go to the furniture shop beside my block to see.

Ya quite sad now we just hope nothing serious and she can be back with us for many years to come... she was the sweetest kitty and we suspected she was abandoned as she is not afraid of humans, can be carried and is a lap cat. She is also well liked by some of the residents in the block, even the vet think she is a sweet gal too... =:p Not too sure how old she is... will need to check with GH this evening.:D

How do you take care of the kitty after he was discharged? Need any special care? Thx!

Tat cat has only 3 legs. That is why the vet kept him for a week to make sure he is alright before discharging him. We release him at his usual place and fed him medication for the next few days.

I go and search for his pic

My Kopi was diagnosed with pancreatitis. Luckily not serious. Vet advised us to reduce his intake of dry food and treat, and take some pancrea enzyme and probiotics powder. Since then we changed the diet of the cats to mostly wet and he takes his supplement regularly. We just had his review last month, blood test shows all normal.

CT scan facilities

Guys/Gals do you know of any vet clinic that do CT scan for bile duct at a reasonable rate. Was quoted by the vet to do a CT scan and analysis by specialist will cost about $350

So far Tabby is better... at least she is eating now. But it was such a challenge to feed her medication :s22:

Didn't get to go TJV, the staffs give us wrong info that GH is on duty but she was not...BUGGER!

Pics of Tabby:
At the clinic, after 1 nite stay...

Back at my place in the study room, hope she is not feeling bored as we left her in there with the door closed, so our other 4 kitties will not be able to see or get close to her at this time. As it was a last min arrangement and kinda late, we make do with the food tray and litter box...:s22:

She has been really a good gal the whole time... only started crying when she see me in the morning as she was hungry and wanted food. Finishes abt half a can of wet food :s12:

Edit: The vet called to say that the scan price is $200, so we decided to go ahead with the scan tomorrow. Will have to skip lunch to rush home and fetch her to the vet then back to office. Will drop by the clinic for the result and also pick her home after work...gonna be a mad Friday tomorrow :s22:
