I think go nha trang eat seafood the best. Vn really not a good place for shopping. A lot of dual pricing - one for local, one for foreigners.

Nha trang not much pvt beach. not as many as mui ne. but still prefer nha trang as sea food is cheaper and more city like.

Pls dun book Halong Bay Tour with price under 80usd for 2days 1night. U will get these worst stuff inside of boat which directly influence to ur trip in Vn.

3 nights is about right. 2 days to check out their attractions leisurely( you have to buy a book of tickets that allow you to visit a certain number of attractions ), 1 day to join a bicycle tour ( there's a free tour conducted by a bunch of students. Excellent way to see the countryside), and maybe 1 day to just hang around and chill, or join a food tour.

Hoi An is a very relaxing place, with cheap delicious food and 1-for-1 happy hour drinks. In the evening, the riverside is alight with traditional lamps, very scenic.

So if you want to chill with your viet gf, it's as good a location as any in Vietnam. If you rush, 2 nights is also enough, but 3 nights will allow for a much more relaxed pace.

But I'm worry about checking in with viet gf may "violate" their rule, especially for 4 stars hotel. Any idea if they are very strict over there or close 1 eye? else may end up paying for another room

But the 4 stars hotel at Vung Tao was ok .. not sure was it because there was another lady friend together with us.

I flew Viet Jet, which is a budget airline. Should be around that price, or slightly lower depending on when you travel. Looking at their website, the price for HCMC to Danang (1 way) on Vietjet for next weekend is only S$75 in the day and S$58 at night, before tax.

The domestic terminal at HCMC is right next to the international terminal, so after you clear immigration at the international terminal, it's literally a 5-10 minute stroll away.

Are you spending any time in Danang? Check out their Dragon bridge, which breathes fire and water at 9pm every night.

likely taking tigerair and will arrive and clear by 9am their time.
since is near to the domestic terminal then more than enough time to catch the 12noon flight to danang. Din plan to stay at Danang.

As usual, I would advise travelers not to change all your money at money changers. Just change maybe $100-200 to VND in Singapore (since it's a small amount, the exchange rate wouldn't be important).

In HCMC, just withdraw VND as needed from any ATM that supports PLUS or CIRRUS, which is almost all ATMs. These are connected directly to your bank account in Singapore at very competitive rates (infact, it's at wholesale rate + 1%). There's a $5-$10 service fee, but it's no worse than the commission you pay at money changers. Some banks, like Citibank, does not charge service fees for international withdrawals.

Be sure to first call your bank to activate overseas withdrawals.

Hi guys, I've read through the last.25 pages and gotten quite a.few pieces.of.great info. I'll be travelling to vietnam for 13.days this Thursday and hope to get some tips and advice.


I'll be flying off at 730am and touching down at hcm. Will be leaving by Hanoi air port about 830pm. So far I'm planning to stay in hcm for 2 days, plus 2 days at the Mekong delta.Then take a plane to Hanoi where I'll spend 1 day, followed by a 2d1n tour of halong bay. Then I'll head up to sapa for 3d2n then I'll spend the remaining 2 days in Hanoi. One day accounted for travelling/emergency time.


Is this fine? I prefer nature stuff so the Mekong delta, halong bay and sapa would be priorities.


Anyone has any advice on how to travel the delta and sapa alone or must we rely on travelling agencies? Also, is the time allocated for sapa and the delta enough?.thanks bosses.in advance!
