Need to get help from Kiat.

As Gotbetrayed will tell you - Jaben is a good place to catch me. That was how we met. Of course, at that point in time, what he needed was a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter. He didn't ask to listen to the Ref1/Uber which was in my hands. =:p

You heard it here first from Goodman. I don't usually come in to praise TOTL products, with the exceptional cases of certain ATH/FAD products that I personally own currently, and to an certain extent I also have very positive impressions of couple of Suyama-san creations out there such as the Private C435 and 333 CIEM models.

In my own words, the Tralucent Audio Reference One are easily one of the best high-end universals I have heard to date, period. While not bringing current popular CIEMs into the equation here since I'm still not well-acquainted with majority of customs out there as I do not own any TOTL ones or auditioned any for long durations, to this pair of ears the Reference One with the combination of Gavin's Uber cables managed to give a very high sonic performance with very musical-sounding traits overall according to my impressions yest. Tried it with many complexed tracks from Hans Zimmer/Naoki Sato and another vocal track from JUJU (one of the only few selected japanese artists who was chosen to hold MTV Unplugged concerts in US) and I was truly convinced this is one of the best, if not the best TOTL universals out there currently.

Yes, I did encounter a couple of tracks from Hans Zimmer's Man of Steel/Dark Knight Rises OST that had overpowering bass quantity for my own listening threshold, but downtuning the ClearBass option to -2 was sufficient for my own ears and comfortable for my own listening session. Also you have to remember that this days alot of modern OSTs go through the 'loudness war' syndrome so alot of stuffs have been enhanced during postproduction in the studios. With classicals and high-quality jazz, the Reference One might actually be okay for most pple out there in terms of bass response/control.

As usual, YMMV as we all have difference listening bias/pair of ears. Just thought I will come in to chime on Kiatseng's pair of Reference One as it is really that good. But of course the pricing at this level is considered too cost-prohibitive for Goodman to hoot already. (not because it's not good enough, but because I'm already on the path of semi-quitting portable fi already)
:o

P.S: I should also mention, before I met Kiatseng yesterday and had a go with his Tralucent Reference One, I had never read any online impressions of this pair of IEM before, only vaguely coming across some prev user impressions of the 1+2 and having tried the 1+2 once at Jaben. Have no personal experience or reading knowledge with most of Gavin's cable creations at all.

Indeed! The Uber does some wonderful things; in particular to the 435 and 335. :s22:

I would imagine so too. And everyone that thinks the uber is not meant for outdoor usage is so wrong. It seems fairly flexible for a solid core cable. Perhaps a slight more care on it during outdoor use will be more than enough

No need.

You can forgo the stock cable & get the uBer with the Ref.1 instead.

The extra cost that you will be paying is well worth it; down to every single cent.

And it is certainly 'manageable' enough to be used outdoors, albeit with a little more care, since its solid core.
