For those with speed issues with Asus routers, the upload speeds have already been upgraded across the board (you can also email NOC to check your upload speed profile)

So there's a high chance your speed is bottlenecked due to some software Config on your PC or your router firmware.

Tips:
- Check if you already have existing background network activity eg yourself or family are torrenting or downloading updates/files
- Disable any 3rd party A/V or firewall software temporarily
- Use Windows 8+ resource monitor to monitor any bandwidth or CPU hogs during Speedtest
- Install latest Asus official or Merlin firmware, then do a hard reset by waiting for router to boot up, then press and hold reset button till router visibly reboots

For those using the smaller Zhone 2301 ONT, there is a known issue with VQ Speedtest and a few other synthetic speed tests - if you do a file download test to Leaseweb SG with a download manager, you should nonetheless see full speeds.

Just checking, do we need to reboot the zhone to enjoy the upgrade ?

Usually what's your sequence of power cycling the zhone and router ?

monkey saw my PM ?

Sorry just saw it. Have been using my phone only to access HWZ lately so haven't replied to all my PMs.

Anyway - have you tested from other PC? What about Softlayer/Leaseweb SNG Speedtest or http://speedtest10.vqbn.com/files/10000mb.bin

The upgrade is seamless and doesn't require reboot - also doesn't matter which one boots up first

Hmm... looks like router settings issue then. Tests indicate with the TurboQAM you should be able to hit 500+Mbits/s.

Thanks. I checked my Turbo QAM is enabled. Any further advice on what to check in my router settings?

Really scratching my head hard...

with 8 part download on download manager is abt 80-90Mbyte per sec. still about 700mbps limit.

yup another pc is also the same result.
Tested download from my internal network and able to hit abt 960mbps.

nod32 antivirus also turned off during the test

Maybe you could uninstall nod32 first and test? Some antivirus suite tend to still work even though they seem off. :s22:

Is the Zhone the router or are you using another Asus/etc router?
