Yes. the 16GB SSD is using for caching to improve speed by around 40-60%.

For QHD Screen yellowish issues, rough estimate there around around 10% in market (happens across ALL brands).
Can't be avoided.

Not really true. Though the yellow screen issue "widespread" (due to manufacture issues), There are more white screens than yellow screens in the market. Yellow screens is still a much smaller percentage.
We have a number of customers who manage to get it change to a good screen at Asus.

It is your choice whether you want to get it done.

As mention earlier, which model to bring in Singapore is decided by Asus, not us.

Will the "white screen" provide true color or just a slight improvement from the "mustard" yellowish color?

Hi,

No screens currently provide true color now.
Even if you get professional screens, you will still need to calibrate the screen once in a while to get the screen to true color.

At Sim Lim Square, the only place that "MAY" have a warranty that cost just a small faction of min 1K

No stock already unless you want to settle for Blue or Pink color

Hi,

Keyboard covers cannot be use with ultrabooks as ultrabooks uses the keyboard for air flow. If you cover up the keyboards, the ultrabook will get very hot...

UX303LN crackling noise

Hi Guys,

Just bought my UX303LN. The sleek design and the screen is fantastic.
Just have a few issues that I want to share before you decide on getting this zenbook.

The Hard drive produces a crackling sound that you can hear when you are in a soundproof room.
Brought it in to check and they opened it up. It was not the fan sound as the IT engineers there have suspected but instead its a hard drive sound.

Fast forward, I have changed the zenbook twice and the problem very much exists.
I will be bringing it in to change for either the Yoga 2 or a Macbook air.

But before I do that,I found this thread and if I upgraded the drives to SSD, it will solve the crackling sound.
So I want to know what is the max amount of space if everything was upgraded to the max ssd the slots can take.

That is why I brought the 256GB SSD drive in the first place. No sound as there is no moving parts.

Save the $$$ for the upgrading.

Buy the FHD and not the QHD for screen.

If you take our the 2.5" to change to an SSD, there is actually no upper limit to the size of SSD you can use.
