why are you worrying?

We worry because we pushed the router to the limit and then realise it doesn't perform up to the level of expectation matched with the price..

I tested ac87u on unlimited fibre as well, it performs great even with ipv6 enabled on stock firmware.

I think the problem comes in only when you have latest iOS and then realise the disconnection from wifi happens when your device goes into sleep. Other than that, no disconnection when your device is active..

If not, you might want to try linksys ea9200?

I want to dump this buggy router too. That new ac3200 router I wonder if anybody still dare to try or not. Asus has earned themselves a bad reputation already. I will avoid it at all cost I think.

Be fair about the buggy portion of the router .... it is a quantenna chipset .....

All manufacturer use this chipset will hit problem.... not only AC87U .. (example Aztech http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/92329691-post10.html)

You should be looking at avoiding the latest quantenna chipset instead of just the brand ....

But avoid quantenna will left with what choice ?.... you can do a search ...

Seriously I already have the mindset of ...... this 5Ghz issue will not be solve.... until the quantenna chipset manufacturer come out with the fix / SDK to do the driver.. which probability even Asus internal developer will also depending on that .....

Well according to SNB, ac3200 is better than this ac87u in terms of normal usage. But if u r talking about Traffic Analyzer and Smart Connect, from whatbi read they are still relatively half baked..

Same here bro. Will definitely tell people to avoid the AC3200 and AC87U. Will recommend people to go for AC68U. If I walk past any booth next week that are selling Asus Router at the IT Show and if they want to buy AC87U, will ask them to check this forum first for information and ask them to avoid at all cost. I wonder whether the sales people will beat me up. Hahahaha.
