Is 5ghz wifi dl speed @200-250mbps (tested on Samsung S5) normal? I am currently on 1gbps plan and my router running on latest firmware.

There is some DC if I did not clear nvrams, once clear so far so good.....

hmmm... let the router run a few more days and monitor the suitation. My experience is that the longer the router runs the more frequent the dc... after that will need to reboot and start all over again.

I'm seriously considering upgrading from my n66 to this, just not really sure if it will substantially increase my range and speed to make sense shelling ~$400 bucks for this baby?

Side note: i'm on 1Gb MR fibre and my speed test using a cat 6 lan cable on my 5yr old Macbook pro is nowhere near 900mb/ps my results are only mid 300s.. Not sure if it's the hardware limiting the speeds?

Feedbacks from experts greatly appreciated

Not everyone have problems with 87u leh. Some have only praises for this router....

I find myself after ditching the 87u - spend less time on forums....

To each his own - some people like to troubleshoot

Oh OK ... Change my words ... Take 87U then pray that not problem and enjoy troubleshoot else dump and go to AC3200 which have a good records and you have more time to surf web than to come here and ask help.

It will come always with firmware upgrades. Overall usage is ok, just some lagging issues for Note 4 and S6 edge. And dropping out of 5ghz band for some devices

Personally, if you don't have 802.11ac devices I wouldn't bother. That's where the speed improvement will come from and claims of range improvements are always exaggerated in my experience.
