I keep everything. Perhaps you want a record just in case their system went down.
Never tried. Did be nice if you update us if you really did it though.
Just received a call from them, they said that it's regulation that contract notes and monthly statements be sent in hardcopy.

That's too bad. Wanted to help them save money off the 90 cents commission that I give them.

Sent from HTC One_M8 using GAGT

Anyway to trade online using an iPhone?

I always go their mobile site and forced to log into Breeze which does not allow trading.

Got a noob question.
After opening a trading account with SCB, I see a Securities Settlement and a Securities Trading Account.
Do I have to put money in one of these accounts before I make a purchase? Or will the money be deducted from my savings account?

Yes. they won't deduct from your savings account, they need to see the cash in the Securities Settlement Account.

do scb charge custodian fee for US shares?

No custodian fees, no fall below fees, no maintenance fees, no whatever u can think of fees. All there is, is the trading comm, other fees charged by US gov like 30% dividends tax and some small fees which is chargeable no matter which broker u use.

Come to SCB thread of course will recommend SCB to you. No min. commission!

When in doubt, open all accounts and see which interface you prefer. :s13:

Many people advise about this in this thread, just read a few pages will see tons of it.

to put it simply, use scb if you don't need to attend AGM, have shares in cdp, have complicated buy/sell orders etc...
It's a simplified platform which is why it's so damn cheap.

Otherwise use the others many times more expensive brokerage.
