I believe you can.
Just take note that you have to factory reset after installing the latest firmware as your current version is more than 2 versions older than the current version.

ok thanks....just upgraded to the official release 376_3861. Will stay for a while to see any issue on this. Official one seems OK and stable to me :)

ASUS RT-AC66U suddenly not working anymore with ViewQwest.
Change to another ASUS RT-AC66U, same problem.

Sometimes, in the ASUS router setting page, after setting everything, the Internet status do showed connected, but ethernet, or wireless, both also cannot access to the internet...

Anybody can help?:(

However, I'm able to access internet by connecting from ONT(Zhone) to laptop.
By the way, anyone can advice how to disable MAC address tagging function?
When I went to the ASUS service centre, they were saying ViewQwest always tagged the MAC address of the user's router. He advice me to request ViewQwest to disable this function.

I would like to know whether I can perform this function by myself.

No you can't do that.

If I'm not wrong, you need to request viewqwest to change the settings of your zhone to put it into bridging mode.

Only this mode will work with ac66u..

hi, any1 has their WAN Access option missing in the download master?
Mine just suddenly disappear.....now cant access from outside.
But still able to access the main console WAN from outside.
Also able to FTP in to the ext HDD
Tried to format the external HDD and reinstall the download master but still same issue.

Using the latest merlin firmware (Firmware:378.55) and download master firmware (ver. 3.1.0.95).

In order to use another router for viewqwest, you need to email noc@viewqwest.com to inform them to change the zhone router to bridge mode, you will also need to provide the MAC address of the asus router to them for them to configure in their backend.

Finally, prob resolved with the help from VQ Phone technical support.
It is caused by some sort of DNS server address clashed.
I was advised to set the DNS server 1 & 2 instead of choosing automatic assigned.

I can't locate the hardware acceleration setting.
Could you advice?

its in lan->switch control tab->NAT acceleration. make sure its not disabled.

my AC66U router has the power button issue where it doesnt stay in the on position, if i let go of the power button it would bounce to the off position.

I also have this power button problem. Should have rebooted it remotely rather than press power on off. That day I pressed and it cannot stay in on position anymore. So have to use tape to tape the button to stay in the ON position..

As for my case can't RMA as it was bought from Amazon and more than a year old.. Sigh.. U can try RMA if still have the local warranty within 3yrs

Hi,

I just recently configured my RT-AC66U. Testing wireless seems fine. But using wired, I just get around 140Mbps. I'm on the 600Mbps subscription. Please help me what to change to achieve it.
