Maybe i'm a cynic but feel that most tech firms pride themselves in being ahead of the customer "knowing what's best for the customer before the customer knows it themselves". This strategy worked and is still working well for Apple with other companies following suit.
I didn't buy the G4 cos don't quite feel the design. But had hoped that sales of it does so well that it reverses the non removable battery trend. Have not looked into analyst reports on sales but it doesn't seem to be outperforming in sales or as raved as G3. If you ask me, the consumers did not really send a clear message to the industry that they really like non removable batteries...![]()
Certainly it has been clearly shown that innovative ideas
are executed as soon as possible with the Korean Samsung
Note #1 pushing out to a surprising consumer market
that screamed in surprise for its huge size at that time
just four years ago. There must be something that kept
them continuing in providing rechargable battery for the Note.
LG has been working very hard to be among the top three
brands in the mobile phone industry and now just behind
Samsung.
They saw the success of G3 but tried out with
the non-removable battery on their Flexs.
Seems that when they started on the idea of G4 they
won't want that anymore.
The G4 with its manual control f/1.8 lens has won the hearts
of many photo enthusiasts. With two extra batteries and a
battery charger one can shoot stills and videos without
much worries.
The trend of non-removable battery could be just for the shake
of having a slimmer phone but would this pride be for long
if the market is turning towards phone with rechargables?
Well, let wait and see for another year, maybe by the end
of 2016 and see what will happen?
Most consumers just hate to carry around a power bank.
It is much easier and lighter to carry two extra batteries.
