Any Krabi itinerary to share?

Good to hear that its dry season! No point going there if its during the Monsoon season. I will check again during Jan - Feb.

Yea I mean we will be going but still its worrying. But oh well! true that, hard to say. Lets not jinx it... everything is gonna be fine!

We already have a very rough idea of what we wanna do there but... If you have any recommendations, it will be great! we can always add it into our list. Since you seemed like you visit there very often.

Will pm you some of the things I think is good to recommend. No la I am just a Thailand Island crawler, really love this place after comparing with a few beach destination in Thailand.

Hello everybody,

Never been in Krabi, so would like to hear suggestions/advice which fits following requirements:

1. Place: No more than 1h ride from the airport. Secluded, nice place away from crowds.
2. A small budget hotel/place near water so one can hear sound of waves. Min requirements: clean room/linings/towels, no insects inside and hot running water. Anything else is not necessary
3. Things to do: except going to water (I don't like it), there should be something else as well, like jungle track, hiking etc.

Not a destination expert, but Ao Nang has no small budget hotel that is near water enough to hear the sound of waves. There is one but it's not gonna to be cheap (not budget hotel).

Staying at Railey is close enough to your requirements, but there are no budget hotel. It takes an additional boat ride of 15mins excluding waiting time to reach there.

Krabi town is not near sea. Noppharat area might worth the look but it is slightly more than an hour journey and there are many expensive stay there.

I think koh samet/pattaya might suit you more.

I would assume that Pattaya area should have lodgings away from noise. If anybody has info to share, please do.

Koh samet just doesn't fit your easy access requirements only, but it fits the others. For pattaya, I will pm you later for a beach house hotel see if you are ok with it.

Hi anyone has any idea how to get from Krabi Airport to Koh Lanta when my flight arrival timing is at 4.00 pm? After searching online I found that the passenger ferry leaves for Koh Lanta from Krabi at 11:00am? Is this true?

Yes It true.

Alternate Soln: Book Minivan to take you back if you die die have to depart from koh lanta on the day morning.
It very ma fan though.
I think i plan to stay in krabi the day before then catch my plane after that.

Speed boat can be a fast and bumpy ride. Longtail boat can be uncomfortable, bumpy, and maybe onboard free bath.

Once again before I give any feedback on road issue, I encourage people not to self drive in Thailand unless 1) you have road experience in Thailand 2) have driving license 3) know where/how to go. Yes you can self drive if you don't wish to join a tour.
