to subscribers of Singtel TV, should you get a call from their marketing team trying to upsell you upgrade to their 4K STB, my advise is DON'T! I am facing STB hang everyday and have to perform power reboot 2 times daily.
Last week 17th Aug, received their marketing team telling me what 4K STB promo. I just ok let them arranged for their courier to deliver and ownself swap out the existing HD DVR STB with this 4K STB. My ST setup was using the Huawei ONR in bridged mode done by ST backend back then in Dec 2018.
Here's the breakdown of my timeline of correspondence.
20th Aug 1500hrs, courier delivered 4K STB in box, and as advised, we ownself swapped out the HD DVR STB, connected my own CAT6 to the ONR (in bridge mode).
20th Aug 1630hrs, 4K STB hanged on Mediacorp Channel 8. Done power reboot from ONR to 4K STB.
20th Aug 2000hrs, hang again this time on Channel 414. Called 1688 they will schedule a engr to check.
21 Aug to 22 Aug whole of the day, don't even want to mention at least twice daily power reboot whilst ST engr is scheduled to check on 23rd Aug
23rd Aug 1125hrs ST, he checked and found no compatibility issue with the equipment and had done reset with their backend server and engr left.
23rd Aug 1250hrs, again the 4K STB freeze video. Called in 1688 again and scheduled another engr for the next day.
24th Aug 1300hrs, an engr from ST called to inform the fibre internet will be down for an hour before heading to my place to check as he will perform troubleshoot from the fibre riser of my block.
24th Aug 1345hrs, engr arrived at my home and i duly informed him of my setup which the ONR was bridged, he acknowledge thank you for informing beforehand. engr then proceeded to change the Huawei ONR to the Nokia ONR and set it to bridged mode, working fine when he left house.
24th Aug about 2115hrs, again STB video freeze. going over the same yada yada for power reboot STB and ONR.
needless to say again till now, issue still remains despite numerous visits and a ONR change.
Hello Singtel, please downgrade back to the HD DVR STB, I've had enough.

27th Aug 2040hrs, I discovered that the date & time shown on my cordless dect phone was reflected incorrectly, whenever i power cycle the ONR, the date & time shown on my cordless dect phone connected to Tel1 port will start ticking from 1st Jan 2021 0800hrs, manually set it's date and time correctly is pointless as an incoming call will still update to the wrong date and time. I called in ST 1688 the tech support is also clueless and advised me to change out the dect phone. (whaaattt?!?!?!
