I just got 2 additional set-top box from +serv but when I bring home and install it.

It give an error code 5....trying calling 1688 but keep on waiting for whole day but still no one pick up the phone.

Anyone know what is error code 5 mean....or else I have to bring back the 2 new set-top box back to +serv.

I remembered there was an similar case previously whereby some of the channels were removed. Can't remember the outcomes.

My contract was upgraded early this year with Fox and its sports channels. Hopefully, there is an option to terminate the plan early without penalty instead of replacing those channels with something else which are not interesting to me.
I'm also concerned as well from a SingtelTV consumer POV, I am subscribed to their Jingxuan Value plan with about 14 months contractual obligations to go from Oct 2021.

Fat hope. Starhub & Singtel both as busok. Remove channels & either do not replace or give u new crap channels. Forget about discount or letting u break contract without penalty.

That’s why when my contract ended I threw the box back. Now subscribing to netflix & disney plus & considering Viu. Pay less, get more stuff to watch & no fear of being short changed.

My suggestion is subscribe to EURO and wait out till Sep/Oct when the situation about the removal of channels are clearer. imagine if you renew now and comes Sep/Oct, the replacement channels are totally of no interest to you, You are going to be struck till your contract ends.

I had done my renewal earlier this year. If I have known about the removal of channels then, I would not renew since I wouldn’t know what are the new channels.

I just locked in another 2 years for free Euro 2020.

Although I'm worried about the Disney/Fox channels in October, i subscribe mainly for Premier League anyway.

Hi all. Not sure if this question has been asked before. If I subscribe to the Mio Stadium 4K channel 101, am I only limited to watch 2 Live 4K matches per week or whether all the programs shown on channel 101 is available to watch?

Hi alcheng,

Thanks for asking. Airing in 4K, Singtel TV CH 101 mirrors the mio Stadium CH 102, the primary channel delivering Premier League coverage. So programs on CH 102 can be enjoyed on CH 101, in addition to the 2 live 4K Premier League matches each week.

In addition, 4K subscribers can enjoy selected blockbuster movies on demand on CH 405 and factual programming on Love Nature 4K CH 212. Learn more about Singtel TV 4K here: https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/tv/dvr/gen3#channels3

Also, what are the set top boxes accessories to return?

Hi @Singtel, has there been any updates regarding the affected FOX/NatGeo channels that will be removed on 1st Oct 2021? What will those programs be replaced with? How about integrating Disney+ into SingtelTV, similar to Netflix on CH404.

Currently our Trio Pack contract expiring next week....looking at either recontracting to a starter pack (if there is 50% discount) or terminating this TV service entirely.

Kindly advise, thanks.

Hi KalTorak

The closure of the Disney/FOX channels in this region from 1 Oct ’21 was a decision by Disney and similar to other pay TV operators in Singapore and across the region, Singtel TV will also be affected by the change.

However, we are committed to continue bringing our customers the best and widest variety of content on Singtel TV and are currently sourcing for quality content with other content partners to ensure minimal impact to our customers. More details will be shared in September.

Thanks.

Thanks for shedding some light on this.
I called 1688 few days ago and had received rather unsatisfactory replies regarding this query.

We've decided not to recontract our singteltv subscription, due to the uncertainties on channel replacements, etc.
My family and I encountered similar issues on StarHub couple years ago with the removal of Discovery channels on Starhub back then, and the replacement channels were far inferior.

TBH, I don't see how those Disney/FOX channels on SingteTV can be replaced with similar 'quality content', unless you bundle in Disney+ into the subscription.
However, I understand Starhub has exclusive rights to Disney+ on their pay-TV platform (Source: StarHub's exclusive Disney+ deal just means Singtel can't sell the service).

During the call with 1688, I was advised to downgrade to starter pack. However there is no recontract offers for existing customers (50% discount deal only for new customers). The set-top box rentals also increased (from current promo rate $9.90 for DVR+additional HD STB to $27.80 for both boxes).
Looks like we'll be terminating this TV service once contract ends.

1688 is not good to provide Singtel TV offers. Same for WhatsApp Singtel.

Go to a Singtel Shop and talk to the friendly TV Counter staff and most likely you will get better offers there for your starter pack.

I went down to Singtel shop @ AMK branch, asked to inquire regarding singtel tv recontract.
The guy at the front (need to queue and take number to enter) simply showed me QR code from his tablet and said that all recontract now to be done online. The weblink looks like the normal offers you get on the Singtel TV website anyway.

Ignore the front door guys. They know nothing about SingTel TV offers (and also SingTel broadband offers).
