Just a warning to those subscribing to Singtel fibre or going to subscribe to Singtel fiber, Singtel forces you to bundle the home phone line to the fiber when you subscribe.

When you want to terminate the fiber line, Singtel will force you to terminate the home phone line, saying it is a bundle. Problem is my home phone line has been there for so long, they are the ones who forced me to bundle the home phone line with fiber in the first place, now they not going to let me terminate my fiber line without terminate my home phone line.

It didn't happen for my case. When I terminated the singtel fiber last year, I told them I would still want the phone line(number) so in the end they only terminate my fiber services, but I am still paying every 3 month for the phone line.

If you guys don't believe me, you can call the Singtel Termination department person named 'Mauie' on this as she told me that my home phone line will be terminated if I terminate my internet fiber line.

yes because the phone line itself is not free. if u want that telephone number link to your phone from singtel there is a subscription charge you have to pay every 3months.
when you subscribe singtel fiber the phone line fee is merge with the fiber services. therefore, after you cancel the fiber service from singtel but you still want to retain the telephone number( service from singtel) you have to tell them and start paying the subscription for the line.

I also don't like ST but this could be a case of miscommunication lah. Try calling in and check w another CSO. Won't be surprise if you get another answer. Their CSOs can be very very blurr and ignorant at all times :(..

FYI, my home phone line has with us for 30 years and when I subscribe to fiber line in 2011, they force me to bundle with fiber line.

I'm still paying both the fiber and home phone line separately even on this bundle. Now I just want to terminate the fiber line without terminating the home phone line which I am still paying. They said cannot, both will be terminated!

there should be alternatives, such as transferring it back to land line, de-bundle, etc..

would be better to transfer back to land line, otherwise 1 fibre port is used just for voice will cause problems in future.

cso might be pulling a fast one as it could be troublesome process, or no commission for termination, or simply misinformed.

dealt with them before, and felt like strangling them. I feel your pain.

I have called Singtel three times, each CSO confirmed with me that if I terminate my fiber internet line (which is already out of contract), they will terminate my 30 year old home phone line.

No misunderstanding, no blur CSO, this is their policy.
Please keep this in mind when you sign up with them

Btw, my home phone line has always been a land line, it never utilise any of the fiber feature at all.

Analog, my home phone line has always been analog line, not digital. If it is digital, then I understand their point.

Since it is analog that is connected to those copper telephone line on the wall socket since the good old days, why the heck they want to do this to me, this is seriously something very wrong.

Yes, the fiber is already out of contract and yet SingTel's replies seem like they are forcing people to retain fiber line if they want to keep their analog land line....

You CAN terminate Fiber+MioTV & keep Fixed Line.
Email IDA [info@ida.gov.sg] to help you get it resolved if Singtel want to play prank !

SingTel Fibre BroadBand | SingTel (just above the photo)

Termination of Service

The Customer may request to terminate the Service or any of the Individual Services by calling SingNet's Customer Service Hotline at 1688 to specify which of the Individual Service(s) that the Customer wishes to terminate.

Where the Customer terminates the Service or where the Customer becomes ineligible to continue the subscription to the Service, resulting in automatic termination of the Service, the Customer shall be liable for all outstanding and applicable fees and charges (at prevailing rates) pertaining to the Service, including but not limited to early termination charges and equipment charges.

If the Customer terminates any one of the Individual Services under the Service during the Minimum Subscription Period, early termination charges (at prevailing rates) will apply as more particularly set out in the respective Sales and Agreement Form.

If the Customer terminates one or more of the Individual Services, the Customer will no longer be eligible for the Service. The Customer's Service will be automatically terminated in such an event and early termination charges (at prevailing rates) will apply as more particularly detailed in the Sales and Agreement Form if such termination occurs prior to expiry of the Minimum Subscription Period

There will be no termination charges if the Customer cancels the Service before the day of installation of the Service. The Customer will however be liable to pay the relevant prevailing cancellation charges for cancellation of any or all of the Individual Services.

For the avoidance of doubt, termination of the Service does not result in automatic termination of all or any of the Individual Services. All Individual Services that are not terminated by the Customer will continue as individual contracts for the remaining term of the Minimum Subscription Period and will be subject to prevailing prices/rates/charges applicable to the respective Individual Services at the time of termination of the Service.

Bro,

I recently just terminated fiber from them and de-bundled with no issues. Tell them you want to pay for the phone separately

Do you meant VQ? Do they allow number retention for your digital phone line?

Hmm I actually signed up with VQ and de-bundled the line. Checked with VQ and due to "marketing decision" the big 3 will not allow retention of numbers
