In the meantime, consumers can continue to receive free-to-air TV channels in the same way as existing analogue TV signals will continue to be broadcast alongside the digital TV signals for at least another two years.*

Not confirmed yet, you still can hold on to your pants.

When can households expect to receive digital TV signals?
The digital TV network will be rolled out progressively across different parts of Singapore over the next two to three years.
Residents in Bukit Batok, Jurong East, Ang Mo Kio, Clementi, Bukit Timah, Bukit Panjang and Choa Chu Kang South are now able to receive the digital TV channels as these estates are now covered by the new digital broadcast infrastructure. Over the next two to three years, coverage will be expanded progressively to enable all residential homes to receive digital TV signals using indoor antennae.

Doesn't makes sense to use wireless when you can run fiber optic. We are going backwards to the 1950s? I wonder it will affect Home Internet Wireless Network as it can interfere with the signals.

No la, they are saying that analogue TV will be phase out. SH cable TV will not be phase out. No problem at all as most people are watching Mio TV or SH cable TV which is already digital format and can be in HD 1080i. Need not do anything. For non-pay TV user just need to buy the set top box with indoor antenna. It is quite cheap and available at AMK hub fairprice too. The 32" Tv in my bedroom do not have pay TV so I will be buying one set top box when the analogue TV has been phased out.

The proper discussion location for Digital TV is over at the Digital Entertainment Lifestyle Hub section of the forums, where this has been discussed already, but let me sum it up for you guys...

Outdoor reception of DVB-T2 for the whole of Singapore is since Dec 2013. They are rolling out repeaters in phases to allow indoor reception, which will cover most of SG by mid 2016. Rollout map available here MediaCorp is going fully digital

If you have a Starhub cable point, you can try tuning for the DVB-C signal which Starhub left unencrypted. Note that although most TVs have DVB-C tuners, a large number of Samsung TVs have this region locked. Philips TVs should be ok.

Rooftop MATV point is only available for some older estates. Newer estates don't have any rooftop antennas. Even then, not all such older blocks can get the DVB-T2 signal as some of them have signal filters which block the digital signals. HDB is said to be planning to dismantle the MATV systems in 2016 or so when the whole of SG has indoor DVB-T2 reception as they are still currently paying contractors to maintain the rooftop antennas which they hope to do without.

Those currently staying in areas with no indoor reception deployment yet, and Starhub cable/MATV point is not available in the house may need to stick their antennas near/out of the windows to get the signal.

I subscribe to ST Home Entertainment Bundle (FEB) in Oct 2013 and they wanted to give me a digital line (new number) as part of the bundle. I told them I wanted my existing analog line to be part of the bundle instead. I no longer pay for the analog 3-monthly subscription when the FEB went into effect. they did not force me in any way. If I wanted, I could have a free digital line and a paying analog line.

So your claim of "I'm still paying both the fiber and home phone line separately even on this bundle." is not possible as a bundled phone line (whether digital or analog) is free. Free, as in no need to pay for it since it is part of the bundle.

I think he converted his analogue phone to digital phone and bundle to the plan just like me. I did that because my copper wire is too old. However can always debundle the digital line when jumping isp. No issue.

Anyway, this is getting out of topic.

The thing is you are confused what is analog. Analog signals are transmitted through cables as well. They are not clear of what are they going to remove but by saying analog, this means all old types of transmission methods currently in use.

For Telephones, we don't know when and most important our Telephone number retention. We are aware we cannot retain our number and this needs to be address as soon as possible. If can't, let us know before implementation.

Of course you have no problems, you don't need to retain your number.

Ps. I'm getting very bad reception, sometimes intermittent problems from StarHub cable for TV since early this year. I guess SH is not going to maintain the old co-axial cable and old infrastructure.

So to align back to main topic, your broadband bundle is a bundle. When you terminate the service, you have an option to retain each component separately. (there's standalone broadband/fibre; standalone Tv on broadband/fibre; standalone analogue /digital home line). Different subscription matrix entails, and debundling may cause cessation of benefits (eg annual handset upgrade/multi line discount). You can request for these changes during termination.

Good to know. I never moved for digital voice. Rather keep the land line and pay $5+ (usage, etc) every month. I think the value of the land line is that it is an emergency option that is not dependent on the internet and even the power line.
