Hi, I have set aside another 10k plus saving in my ocbc account before intending to invest 10k over a Long period of time gradually. That’s why I am asking for advice regarding us stock investment. It is not one lump sum 10k throw into stock market. I am only looking at iwda etf and vusd etf to invest in
Not an expert but i think quite alot using ibkr so can consider that. Downside is 10 usd / month if you have less than 100k usd.

I am going 25 next yr, so means if I hit 26 they will charge me usd 10 or usd 3 all the way ? I dun invest frequently probably once a mth? Only looking at ETF . Which other broker might be better?

If u hit 26, they will charge u U$10. If u invest once a mth, ibkr is the cheapest (although some may argue otherwise).

Hello there.

Don't lurk, join in the talks, share with us if you come across anything interest.

you still holding onto vxrt, I thought you would let go when it hit 16 and now, seems to be a good time to buy back.

The earning report will be out in 2 says time.

May I ask, what news are you vesting for?
Bought over?

Any idea on which brokerage u can recommend me for us stock? I am rookie.

Not working, (have about 10k to invest)
I am turning 25 next year
Prefer to hold Long term and I doubt I have time to trade much as I need to study and also work in the future .

Is standard Chartered a good choice? What about fsmone, Ib, td Ameritrade ?

Maybe looking to invest etf but can’t avoid the 30% dividend tax. Can it b avoided if I reinvest it?

30% tax applies to all dividends from both stocks and etf.
if etf dividend tax is a concern, maybe u shud check out robos such as endowus and stashaway. dun think it can be totally avoided, but I think one or both of them said something like can be reduced. (din really understand or clarify with them becoz not a concern to me). but the disadv is robos charge a fee, whereas TD is not charging commissions.

newbies with limited time definitely shud start with etfs. instant diversification.

I am into NIO as well. The ER is next Tuesday. Before market open, can hold. Fundamental quite ok. If you want to swing trade also can, sell before the results.

Tik Tok not confirmed sure can bought over. Hence, it already price in with a near 10% upside. Play with care as FAANG is now may have correction. Move into Vaccine and EV
