Get on interactive broker! the fees are good if you do frequent trading. their in-app currency conversion rates are good as well :)

Thanks! Yea have been hearing about Interactive Broker a lot recently.
The main cost is basically the USD 10 per month?
No currency conversion fee i guess? :s13:
Sounds much better for someone who trades frequently. I execute about 2 trades worth on saxo about 6.5k sgd, currency conversion i incur about 85 sgd for buy sell.

Tos now 0 comms! Can consider..

Thanks! Sorry, TOS you referring to TD Ameritrade?
Actually i realise commission for most brokers are really competitive even for Saxo. Just that the currency conversion fee really :s22:

My bro uses TD Ameritrade apparently, he complaining about the commission :s13: But it is probably better for option chains from what I heard. IBKR is wtf buggy, totally cannot use it for day trade. For mid term still okay.

I use an IBKR USD main account so right now the spare cash is parked there while I buy options.

$85 just for buy and sell of $6.5k is sibeh jialat. Imagine 10 times that amount.

Saxo is also a competitive international broker. Most international brokers are competitive. Compared to SG brokers is night and day.

Probably just a huge green day for the market. Many stocks chiong without reasons yesterday.

basically the bond market is vastly larger than the equity market.
just pay attention to the movement of the US 10 year treasury note....

when it goes up for the day....generally means money flowing into equities....leading to a pump in the stock market. aka Risk-on day.

when it goes down for the day....generally means money flowing into bond market....leading to a slump in the stock market. aka risk-off day. :o

Any idea on which brokerage u can recommend me for us stock? I am rookie.

Not working, (have about 10k to invest)
I am turning 25 next year
Prefer to hold Long term and I doubt I have time to trade much as I need to study and also work in the future .

Is standard Chartered a good choice? What about fsmone, Ib, td Ameritrade ?

Maybe looking to invest etf but can’t avoid the 30% dividend tax. Can it b avoided if I reinvest it?

Seriously? I suggest you save the $10k and put it in the bank since you are not working and only 25. You might take 1-2 years to find a job in this very bad market and you need the money to tide you over. Why wanna risk your savings on investments? Its not a sure make money thing

Hi, I have set aside another 10k plus saving in my ocbc account before intending to invest 10k over a Long period of time gradually. That’s why I am asking for advice regarding us stock investment. It is not one lump sum 10k throw into stock market. I am only looking at iwda etf and vusd etf to invest in
