Hi all,

Recently entered into the US equities market. Was using Saxo but realise they charge a 0.75% fee for each currency conversion (ie 0.75% when i buy a USD equity using SGD, another 0.75% when i sell a USD equity and convert back to SGD).

I have sort of reduced the frequency of the currency conversion fee by creating a USD sub account (therefore when I sell an equity, it stays in USD. I therefore only get charge 0.75% when i place fresh fund into the USD sub account or when i move the USD out to the SGD sub account).

Just wondering,
1. Is there a more cost effective way and what brokers are you guys using to buy US equities?
2. Whats the best way to fund my USD sub account if i want to put fresh funds into the account? Convert SGD to USD using DBS multiplier account, then transfer to my Saxo USD sub account?

Thanks!

Get on interactive broker! the fees are good if you do frequent trading. their in-app currency conversion rates are good as well :)
