time have shown that neither kmt or dpp can do a better job as they are both bog down by the same issues. kmt will not improve the situation.

time also have shown that selling out tw to china did not bring most tw residents much benefits. those who have voted for ma and those who have supported han in the past have seen the results. at one point, ma's treaty with china even resulted in a larger protest than that of chen. taiwanese might give chance to kmt but they wont allow someone who will sell out tw if they know that will happen.

kmt always like to claim that dpp have more 意識形態, but it is actually the reverse. the mainlanders in tw with only 15% population but used to hold the country's resources under one party, and used to being the elite and having their culture being imposed on all others, now felt threatened that their culture is now being marginalised and make proportional to their population size, so they actually have a stronger 意識形態. and with the rise of china, they are further sandwiched and are more fragmented.

han might come off as a likable figure with sleek talking, but unfortunately he is on the red side of the kmt spectrum, which makes him an unacceptable figure for both the blue and the green.
