What you smoking bruh... :s17::s17:

:s22::s22:

I think it is just a catch all testing to weed out bottlenecks otherwise it can be missed with regular testing. The regular reviewers will never think about using i3 6100 and Zboard. A case of good to know.

Cos reviewers already know overclocking RAM on a Core i3 (some more) on a Z chipset motherboard simply doesn't reap any useful gains.

But in the 1st and 3rd videos i linked earlier, the i3 6100 games better with faster ram.

Just stick with your x4 965. Based on your usage, I don't see a need to upgrade.

I'm still on the x4 955 and I don't feel compelled to upgrade at all.

just upgrade gpu.. then u are ready to rock!! :D

My daily rig is i7 950 and it's stable as hell!!

Thanks for the advices.

Reason why I want to upgrade is that my motherboard is like starting to die... Some USB ports stop working and random hanging and reboots are starting to happen much more often. All these continued even after I have done a fresh win 7 reinstall. So I think it is almost time.
Else you are right, the 965 works very well in most scenarios still and I would have kept using it till it dies.

Thanks. I prefer not to use back the same board as it is a pain not having onboard usb3 and sata3... Some more I got two SSDs....
The 880g one is reserved....

And I also have this fear that my cpu might die after I change my board.... Then would be a waste of money on the board.....
So you've found an excuse to buy a new PC.... :D

Wait till 11/11 on taobao/aliexpress/Lazada, 27/11 for Amazon BF sales to checkout for any great items...

:). Actually I just want to stablise it again cos it is a pain.. sometimes it refused to boot till the third try.. and the freezes is annoying when trying to do some work.

Anyway, becos of what you posted, I started looking for a possible board replacement in the IT garage sale. If can find a real cheap one, maybe dont mind try and use the savings to get gtx 970... :)
or like you say, wait for 11/11 or even black friday.

Thanks again to all bros who gave their comments. Amazingly, I went to IT garage and found a guy selling the asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 for $120. I bargain down to $110 and got it tonight. He claimed is brand new as his friend's shop close down. But it is not brand new as it is missing cables. Anyway, I just hope it works well as main board seldom spoil.
Now can channel the savings to a new gtx 970 :)
