I'm more concerned the Video-Pro guys get pissy when I come in with 3 separate orders lol.

Also with the Zotac GTX 970 single listing gone, is either go for Palit Jetstream, or the MSI Model. Can't use the $100 coupon with the CNY bundle so can't consider it.

Edit: Just a personal preference thing, I tend to stick with NVIDIA cause they put out their drivers quicker.

EDIT2: OH HO! Nevermind I FOUND where they hid the Zotac. Sneaky...

Can sic link for it? I bought the palit with option to change to zotac...

That's what I meant. I noticed the Zotac got removed from my cart, then checked the Q&A, and found the Zotac Q&A got moved to Palit.

Looks like that's how they wanna push people to get the bundle, but also not wanting to completely take away the option...

BTW, I could get a MSI R9-390 8GB for $487 (after store coupon + the $100 coupon).

I'm looking at the benchmarks. And the 390 does seem it'll perform better (if drawing a lot more power), but then again, all that extra memory feels like it's wasted when I'm sticking with 1080p gaming for quite a while.

But does mean I can future-proof myself more with the 390.

And that superior VRAM might help with my editing and rendering work...honestly not sure on that front. What about the lower clock speed on the 390 though? I'm not OCing, so stock speeds is what I have to measure with.

Edit: I also remember back when I was modding Skyrim and hit the VRAM limit...of course Skyrim's on the really bad GameBryo engine and could never use more than 4GB VRAM max anyway; but for future games + modding...more VRAM definitely future-proofs.

Fine, I'm convinced the 390 is a better bet. It's not going to be for 4K gaming, but it's way more future-proofed in this case.

But what about the amount power it needs? Is the current PSU I picked sufficient?

Yup, its more than enough. http://list.qoo10.sg/item/POWERCOLOR-PCS-R9-390-8GB-GD5-512BIT/439788799#customerTabWrap1 you can also get this instead, see if the coupon works on it, then tell them you wanna self collect if it does.

Don't you get an error message when it doesn't work? That explains why it doesn't work. Quite straightforward? :s11:

E.g. Just tried:
  • MCDLAZ, WOWAPP - "Sorry, this voucher has expired"
  • AAPROMO could be applied, unless you've already used it.
  • SINGLAZ15 - "Sorry, this voucher is not available for your selected payment method" (with hellopay payment mode). Changed it to a VISA cc and it could be applied.

Only the promos like Mastercard Monday, DBS Friday, etc are day-based, but those don't need codes, just check out with the appropriate CCs.

bro.. why video-pro will get pissed when you buy from them?
you give them business..

Cos I use 3 coupons when I 'should' only use 1 lol. But guess they still get their cut from Qoo10 anyway.

Yup, can use the coupon. Hope they reply to my request for self-collect.

Can the PowerColor fit in a case like the N200? Scared about the length.

I'm kinda considering just going for the MSI r9 390 that Video-Pro has, even though it's about $37 more, because I'm too lazy to go to 2 stores on Friday for the pick-ups lol! Plus probably just get the Video-Pro guys to assemble everything, since all the components except a case are from them if I get the GPU as well, prolly can get it done for free or cheap. If they have a case I like in-store that day, maybe can get discount on that too.

Also because Biz-gram doesn't officially do in-store pick-up, have to request that (and they haven't replied to my request).

video-pro and bizgram are in the same floor actually. two opposite sides. if you can't get it done for free/good price, can consider getting it fixed up at nigel's over at 2nd floor, good service and friendly guy. just do give him some 'kopi $$$' for it since i don't think he charges for it. http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/h...corner-all-diy-hardwarezoner-^-^-3581022.html

Ah fair enough, it's just I wish Bizgram would reply, would make this choice easier! My coupon expires at midnight I think o_o The order has to go in like, now.

Also I can't find the warranty info much on the PowerColor listing, I'm assuming it's 3yrs local warranty like on the other cards, but not sure.

Thanks for the heads-up about the DIY corner , if I have to go extra shopping for a case and keyboard anyway, yeah probably will end up at Nigel's :s13:

powercolor i think is actually 2 years warranty(most companies have 3 at least) if want to play safe with warranty, then may be better to go msi. if still going with powercolor, if bizgram :vijayadmin: don't give you a response by 11.30pm(since your coupon expires midnight) then go with videopro and msi, or take your chances/use delivery.

Well Video-Pro just called, the Corsair 650W PSU out of stock, they want me to take a ThermalTake 650W (guessing ToughPower?) instead, but don't see that model on their store site at all, can't even confirm they really are the same price?

They actually have Seasonic 650W model, tho $30 more.

Now can't call them back up to re-confirm the order >_>

Think if I go down on Friday and make a big fuss ("CHEAT MY MONEY!"), can at least get the SeaSonic model with a top-up or something.

Unless the ThermalTake one is okay. As long as they don't try to cheat me with a lousy model (the 450W LitePower one only ThermalTake on their store page).

Seasonic is one of the better PSU manufacturer, they have been manufacturing PSU for many other "reputable" brands as well.

Their 80+Gold G Series is worth the money.

If your "bang table" method didn't work on the day, u can consider their 550w option if you're not a heavy overclocker cuz it's listed for $139 on their site. Means to say no top up required.

Yeah really irritating they still selling the Corsair model on their store page even tho now no stock. Even when I just called up to say I can wait for the stock, they insist "shortage shortage", meh.

Feels like cutting it close with 550w especially since I got the r9 390 instead of a gtx970. But 550w should still be enough right? (Pcpartpicker puts the build requiring around 460w or so; and yeah definitely not planning to OC)

Edit: Top-up is actually $24 after the price diff between SeaSonic and Corsair.

In theory, should be. But most people would want to go higher for fear of power spiking due to whatever reason. And also to allow them to add in another graphics card to crossfire/sli in future

http://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator

Just try to haggle for a waiver of the $24 bucks top up :o

Will try again tomorrow, dunno how successful is haggling over the phone...I'll point out I'm buying whole system from them already, so count the SeaSonic as my 'discount' can already lol.

Well, the good news is that the alternative item they're giving me - the ThermalTake ToughPower 650W, is higher scoring unit than the Corsair CS650m I originally ordered (http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=402 vs http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&file=print&reid=366 ; 850W model in the review but same product line I checked the model numbers).

I just don't like that they only let me pick models that match the price I paid (so AFTER discount) instead of comparable models, tried to pawn off a cheaper Bronze unit on me >_>

Also too bad the older SeaSonic G12 model on their pricelist no longer available, would have been good too.

But uh, feel better now I know exactly what model they replacing with.

well the toughpower's one of thermaltake's good units, and it has a 5 year warranty compared to 3 years on the cs650m, so i'll call that a win for you :s13:, even if its non modular :(

My friend just bought those parts from Q10 and collect them an hour ago. Pay 30 dollar to assemble the parts and they doesnt really care if you get your parts from.
Just make sure every 500 you use the 100 discount.
If you have additional 100, you can use the 30% discount code too.
