This used to work wonders until parents became soft.

What is manageable sound to you might not be manageable sound to others. Not much is described in detail on the intensity or the frequency of the children's actions, so for all we know, the kids may be shouting, screaming, slamming the gate and running up and down the corridor and stairs with their flip flops or cycling in their bicycle. Similarly, not much is described about the attacker except he has been enduring since they moved in. He could be an odd job or shift worker that needs his sleep in the day and finally snapped after much altercation between him and the family, who knows?

But alas, someone already lost her life due to this. I feel that the relevant authorities should have more power and along with action taken against such issues as we live in a very dense environment.

Regardless, RIP to the deceased.
Exactly.
I know some young parents can even instigate their children to make more noises to anger the other party like wat you had described. But then when these ppl are at the receiving end they will complained to authorities using their children as excuse and shield to paint themselves as victims.

I observe most neighbour disputes that result in violence leading to death and injury happen in public housing. Fewer such incidents in condos and private properties. Probably due to majority of population live in public housing

But still cause nuisance to neighbors.
How?
Oh it'll stop because that's where they're getting hit the hardest, in the parent's pockets. Works all the time for fines in Singapore. That's why we're a fine city.

this is what I always believe.... what's the point of feedback to authority or police..... their standard reply shall always be they will monitor the situation and take appropriate action.... worst still they will advise u to move house........ Not till such tragic happens...... then they will step in and really take actions.......

Agreed. Some parents will encourage their children to go ahead.
Once my neighbour talk to the noisy children not to create so much noise.
The parent went to report to police.
Then the police told my neighbour, don't talk to children of dispute family
Their parent can lie n tell nonsense to police

The number is growing…2500 every month is a lot….Which agency is in charge? SPF? HDB? NEA? Town Council?

“A majority of disputes between neighbours are noise-related, with government agencies receiving an average of around 2,500 complaints every month.?
