I asked for the price of E7 and surprisingly he recommended me Sony models of lower prices. Apparently, commission is not a factor here which prompted me to ask here to understand better

Either get the low end model LCD led.. If u getting high end led LCD might as well go OLED. So u have to see yr budget and size of the tv u want

you are assuming commission amount is proportional to sales price, but it's not.

back to your burn in question, all emissive displays (CRT, plasma, OLED, etc) have the potential to suffer from burn in. however, being possible and being susceptible are 2 different things, susceptibility means there is a likelihood, which is not the case for today's OLEDs. so unless your TV display pattern contains prolonged static display (e.g. always watching a certain channel that has a fixed channel logo shown, or always playing a certain game that has a fixed HUD or status bar), you do not need to worry about this.

Ya, I'm more worried about the TV channel display since they tend to be on the same position. And I read somewhere online there were such issues for LG's 2016 OLED models though I'm not sure which one specifically. I'm also hoping this issue belongs to the past given today's technology.

Second that. From the outset we prefer LG's oled as their visual quality are really nice. This is until the promoter provided me with another perspective. But yeah, will do my homework before the purchase.

if you understand the technical reason behind OLED burn in, you will then understand that this issue will most likely never completely be a thing of the past. for this potential issue to be completely eliminated, there needs to be a light emitting diode technology that never degrades over time, and have an infinite lifespan. what has improved is that the degradation is much less pronounced in today's OLED technology, and a couple of other nifty tricks like pixel shifting and compensation cycles, and also very simple preventive feature like screen saver mode. all of this help to mitigate the risk of getting burn in.

Just want to know if the unfortunate happens and warranty doesn't cover this, what's the remedy? Able to repair the tv or change a new set?

the only way to repair burn in is a change of panel.

whats the benchmark pricing for the 55C7? 3~3.3k?

i know at least 2 persons( not hwzers) beside me who got lower then 3k after offset all gifts. I got it below 3k after trade in free 47inch tv and it comes with free arm mount, LG phone and cheap blueray player. USA side already selling abt 2.7 2.9k sing .. so price is dropping... USA side price might drop to 2.3k after new 2018 models announce.. locally the most is 2.5 to 2.6k... this is from past 2016 oled price movements. so if u want to wait can wait for close to year end.. else if now can get below 3k just wack.:D
