But with HDMI 2.1 you will be guaranteed A 4:4:4 Chroma. Meaning, you'll be getting clear text and all especially if you plug a signal via HDMI like your PC to TV. You know how when you currently plug a PC to the TV, the texts appear slightly distorted right? Learn about 4:2:2 Chroma to understand why. You'll soon be getting a more accurate colour space for every single pixel instead of every 4 pixels. So sharper images with correct colouring for every single pixel.

Another benefit is getting adaptive refresh rate that makes 30fps gaming and even 60 fps up to 120Hz appear extremely smooth similarly to how G-Sync or Freesync works with the added benefit that it is the HDMI's new feature without the need for a G-Sync compatible TV that in itself is a killer feature for gaming on the big screen.

And last but not least, the final form of HDR which is Dynamic HDR which will be the standard from here on forth. Yes, there will still be other iterations but Dynamic HDR will likely be the mainstream standard since it is also incorporated in HDMI 2.1 standard.

This does not matter if u just wanna watch tv shows. If i rmb correctly, hdmi 2 alr have 4:4:4 support.


I guess that just depends on demand on those xtra features and your intended usage.

HDMI 2.0 or 2.0a does not support 4:4:4 Chroma.
If you want to just watch TV, a Full HD TV will do. But if you want a true future proof TV, next year's TV will be the baseline.

Fhd? Well, you aren't wrong, HAHA.

I am just gonna assume it's fine to watch video thru hdmi 2 but not gaming?

Or is it still bad with hdmi 2.0 for blu ray videos?

HDMI 2.0 have just enough bandwidth to support 4:4:4 up to 4k 60Hz but at 8bit colour.

For 4K 60Hz 4:4:4 at 10bit or more colour, we will need HDMI 2.1.

Why >10bit colours matter? because they are needed for HDR.

Hi guys. Just checking, if I’m getting the 55C7 how do I go about getting the price at $2600? Is this price available for all BD and HN outlets?

Open yr mouth and ask the sales there.. The price wun fall down from the sky. Show them u are ready to buy.. See what they can offer. Do look for senior sales or the manager
