Thanks for yr reply.

But even if its temporary isn't it a concern that it will eventually lead to something worst? I am sure there will be degenaration of some sorts on e panel due to tis, plus its quite irritating tat u spent so much only to see image retention on yr new tv......no?:s11:

then it's burn in that you are really concerned about, since that is permanent. image retention typically can be remediated by running compensation cycles. all TV panel technologies have their drawbacks, backlit panels will have blooming effect, VA LCD panels have lousy viewing angles, IPS panels have poor gray uniformity, etc. at least burn in can be prevented by making sure you do not have static images displayed for extended period of time, all the other drawbacks I've mentioned cannot be mitigated, you just have to live with it.

still feeling especially concerned about OLED?

Looks like no hdmi 2.1 for 2018 models..

https://www.cnet.com/google-amp/news/lg-oled-tvs-dont-mess-with-success-in-2018/

But with HDMI 2.1 you will be guaranteed A 4:4:4 Chroma. Meaning, you'll be getting clear text and all especially if you plug a signal via HDMI like your PC to TV. You know how when you currently plug a PC to the TV, the texts appear slightly distorted right? Learn about 4:2:2 Chroma to understand why. You'll soon be getting a more accurate colour space for every single pixel instead of every 4 pixels. So sharper images with correct colouring for every single pixel.

Another benefit is getting adaptive refresh rate that makes 30fps gaming and even 60 fps up to 120Hz appear extremely smooth similarly to how G-Sync or Freesync works with the added benefit that it is the HDMI's new feature without the need for a G-Sync compatible TV that in itself is a killer feature for gaming on the big screen.

And last but not least, the final form of HDR which is Dynamic HDR which will be the standard from here on forth. Yes, there will still be other iterations but Dynamic HDR will likely be the mainstream standard since it is also incorporated in HDMI 2.1 standard.

Those with OLED55C7T can share your calibration settings? I've been using rtings.com guide. Seems great so far. Anyone has better or optimum ones?

personally I find Warm2 colour temperature to be too warm for my liking, so I choose Warm1 instead. This is entirely subjective, pick the one that is more pleasing to your eyes.

i using intel computestick attached to the C7 to watch k drama on kissasian at 720p res . quite good. normal tv channels will depend on the broadcast.

I bought the 55 in C7 a week ago. I am having a problem so wish to check if any folks here are encountering the same issue.

My Starhub box is connected to my AVR, which is outputted to the TV HDMI ARC input.

When watching Starhub programs, the screen blacks out for a second and the blacking out happens every few minutes (though not at exact frequency).

I tried watching Chromecast, which is connected via my AVR, and the blacking out does not happen.

I tried switching to Netflix app (the app within TV), and the blacking out does not happen.

Any one having same issue as me?

Oh i see... yeah, the SJ8 was going for $499 instead of the RRP. U saw those peeps selling SJ8 @ $399 on Carousell one right? :s13: ... posted it 'quite some time back' but still listed ... at that price, it shd move but still see the listings as active. :D

sounds to me like the HDMI cable issue too, the cable that connects Starhub STB to AVR. If changing that cable doesn't work, try connecting the STB to another HDMI input of the AVR.

Users of LG OLED TV, is it true that LG OLED TV is very susceptible to image burn if you watch any stations with banners or static logos, Mediacorp channels or other channels with Static logos.
