1999 n 2009 coe at the lowest, so 2019-2020 coe will be lowest again...like that this also cannot wait meh
The low Coe at 1999 and 2009 were due to financial crisis, not because of huge Coe supply. In fact, Coe supply is at its peak now and will dip at the end of next year if you see LTA figures of Coe supply from 2006 to 2009.

We are already in the peak supply. Hard truths but the recent COE range is the lowest it'll go. No more 4x or even 3x.

By 2018 it will start to taper off. It might stretch into 2019-2021 due to a group of people who did 5 year renewals.

More dereg = more coe available right? Many cars are expiring in 2018/2019.

Prices expected to drop then?

The peak dereg happened in first quarter this year, which translates to high Coe supply from April to July this year. 2019 onwards will actually be the start of Coe drought years. But thanks to those who renewed Coe for 5 years, this will alleviate the drought a bit.
You can download the past 10 years Coe supply data from LTA. I translated the data into a chart so that I can study the trend a bit

Hi thanks for being helpful.

So in your opinion, now till 2018 is actually a good window to renew coe?2019 to 2021 will be very expensive?

I don't see it going a lot cheaper, unless there is a major financial crisis. If it's going to be cheap, it should be now with the peak supply and poor economy. But we are still seeing strong demand thanks to uber and loan relaxation. Anyway we can't win pee a pee. If they want Coe premium to increase, they can go back to 100% loan relaxation
