Did anyone purchase their phone from Google Store Singapore?

I placed my order for the Pixel 3 128GB on 13 Oct and I am still waiting for the phone to arrive. Yesterday I received an sms from my bank indicating that Google has billed me a second time (identical amount as the first time). I called the bank immediately to cancel the second transaction, however they declined and asked me to contact Google instead. Even thought the bank told me that Google has not billed for both transactions (13 Oct & 6th Nov), they confirmed that Google billed me twice.

Currently, I am in contact with Google to resolve this matter, but was wondering if anyone encountered the same?

Me. I mentioned before I kena extra charged $50 as I used debit card from MasterCard. Email to Google sg n they escalating to their special team ask me to wait for 48 hours

Been using the 3XL since Monday. Would have gotten it sooner but there was a mix up with Singtel. Due to the delayed shipment of the white/pink models ; I opted to switch my order from White to Black but the online form I used to submit my info with was managed exclusively by their e commerce team so no one from the call center was able to provide any info. After submitting the form agreeing to change to the black model last Thursday I was informed that I would be receiving an sms confirmation "shortly". When "shortly" never arrived, I called the 1688 hotline and no one had any clue what I was talking about, someone even asked me to call the Google hotline. In any case, someone called me to resolve the issue and reschedule delivery. I got the phone just 3 days after the original delivery date so it's not much of an issue. I'm supposed to be getting free 1gb data plus a "customised" 3xl case although I'm not sure how that's going to happen.

First impressions on the 3XL

- lack of Panda colour scheme made the switch to black really easy.

- screen feels like a huge leap from the 2xl to be honest.

- miss having a nav bar and I'm still trying to get used to swiping up to access the app drawer

- the notch is there and it's huge but it's unobtrusive for how I use this phone, which is mainly just for Web, texting and emails.

- snappy performance is a given, but my Pixel 2xl suffered from massive slowdowns after 7 months, so I'm cautiously optimistic for this one

- audio sounds a little more muffled compared to the 2xl

- camera is great as usual and notch is a worthy price to pay for the front cam

- standby battery time seems worse than the 2xl

What happened to your pixel 2 xl that it suffered massive slowdowns?

I don't think anyone can answer that. Phone performance can depend on so many things. It could be from heavy usage (tons of apps installed and running in background), it could be hardware, it could be from software bugs.

If you're talking about the issue MKBHD, Artem brought up about their Pixel 2 slowing down, I can tell you that on the other side of the coin, my Pixel 2 has been performing just fine, and it feels as snappy as it did when i first got it.

But all that aside, the fact is that the SD845 is not clocked as high as other android phones, there isn't as much thermal management going on? (samsung, OnePlus, etc doing like vapour cooling), and the RAM is 4GB.

So if you're a super heavy user, you're going to reach the performance limit of the phone sooner than you would on a phone like the OnePlus 6T. Google can optimise the sh!t out of Android of course, but it has its limitations.

But for my usage, even the Pixel 2's performance is more than good enough already.

TL;DR version.... YMMV.

Yes yes.. all the pixels lag after 1 month of use and very easily scratched.. ram also will ownself shrink in size.. please avoid and buy samsung huawei or iphone

Just to chime in, I'm also not experiencing any lags or slowdowns on my Pixel 2 XL which I've been using since its launch date.

We normal genuine users say no use one lah. Although we been saying the same thing from pixel 2 thread till pixel 3. People just chut one video say got slowdown, will lag, ram not enough, easily scratch, means its the same for all the users liao understand!

Are you sure it's the cable and not your laptop unable to provide enough current?

It was working fine, previously with my laptop for lightning cable, using iPhone X previously. So I guess down to the cable.

2 other friend of mine pre-orderd the Pixel 3 in White on the first and second day the pre-order went up, same as me. Shortly after that, they changed the promo to include the Pixel Stand for anyone who pre-ordered (first 1000 pre-orders). All of us received the phone on Nov 1st, but pixel stand is no where to be found. Was told to wait till Nov 1st for an SMS, then was told to just "wait patiently, if you are eligible you'll get it", basically the usual tai chi masters at work.

Meanwhile a few pages back some bro mentioned he pre-ordered 24th Oct, received his Pixel 3 with the Pixel Stand. So if he's within the first 1000, pretty sure we are too. Most other people who pre-ordered later probably all got theirs already.

Then 1 of my friend received an SMS from Singtel ytd evening that he will be receiving another SMS about the Pixel Stand. The other 2 of us still nothing.

One pre-order, but so many pattern.

The offer is singtel offer one. I would say its singtel poor management at this sudden circumstance as a result of google's delay.

A lot of times the singtel cso u talk to one, next time u talk to another its another story liao

Actually, this is no surprise. Recall the times when you had to deal with any Singapore owned stores when there are delays in your furniture, games, etc. All will have the same "no update" style right? It's just Singapore companies being Singaporean.

Hahah but ah I think this is the worse delay I have ever encountered since purchasing any tech products. And that is even after I have paid my money -.-

At least furniture shop only pay deposit lol. If they cannot fulfill still can bang table tell them fly kite and get money back. This one wanna bang also don't know go where bang. Bang at comcentre the front line staff will think I siao haha.

If we are under the 1st 1000 Telco Singtel Google promo for free stand with criteria updated to preorder only...then don't need the data x3 already....did anyone manage to sort this part out?

The first transaction should not go thru, the second one is the final one and you should be getting notification soon that the device should be shipping out in a few days time. I got the SMS twice, but when I check the statement, the initial one was gone.

How long did it take for the shipment to reach you?

Quick review on the skinomi techskin TPU screen protector from Amazon. Installation is easy if you follow the instructions online. Took me less than 10 mins.

The cut-out fits very well. And it fits with the Spigen rugged armor without lifting any edges.

However, since its TPU you will feel that the surface is softer if your fingernail scratches against it. It also have a slight resistance and does not feel as smooth as glass.

I will probably use it in the meantime, while waiting for rhinoshield to release their screen protector.
