Hi guys im currently in japan now. Is it possible to get pixel 3 xl here in stores? And how much cheaper will it be if i buy it here compared to SG?

It starts from ¥ 95,000 according to Google online store. They also list softbank and docomo as partners. Interestingly can't even pre-order the smaller pixel 3 anymore, only the Pixel 3 XL. Maybe the Japanese prefers smaller phones, that's why sony is still making compact series. haha.

anyway that translate to around S$1,170? It's cheaper than SG's S$1249, but IF street shops in SG sells the Pixel 3 series, it could be lower than that. That's a real possibility since i do see some shops selling the Pixel 2XL. Considering the lack of warranty, still think it's more prudent to just buy in SG. Unless you spend more time in Japan, or die die need FeliCa support for some reason.

Phones with cameras bought in Japan will always have a persistent camera sound when taking photos that you cannot disable. Bear that in mind if this bothers you.

haven't come out in the stores yet. you must wait till nov first week. and the ones you can buy from docomo or softbank will not be sim-free straightaway

Thanks, i will be back in SG nxt week. Not be able to buy in japan by then i guess. Even if got duty free shop to avoid japanese tax, i can't buy i guess

Screen is better than pixel 2 confirmed and chopped. Not any bigger than P2 but the resolution is better. The display panel looks clean and 'whiter' than my P2 that has a yellowish hue or tint.

Me too.. I always on natural colours on my 2XL now. Find saturated colour too gaudy..

Using natural settings on my pixel 2 xl too. Now when i look at other androids i feel its too saturated & feel like the colors are fake

Was at singtel@bugis today to molest the two pixels. The notch isn't that bad and I find it acceptable although aesthetically this could be designed functionally better. In my opinion, the whole notch-gate affair is quite overblown and it is always a relative comparison. Imagine Google is the first company that implements the notch from the start or beginning, would it still garner that kind of scrutiny or criticism? Anyway just my 2 cents worth.

If Google does this notch before Apple I think definitely more criticism.

I think now that Apple did it on their iphone X, it gives other people who use phones with the notch to say "iphone X also got notch"

Did anyone notice the colour vibrancy, brightness and contrast on the smaller pixel is better than XL? I was comparing the two at singtel bugis and it appears the white on the smaller pixel looks whiter than XL and there is a hint of grey on the XL.

Did you check that when you compared the two devices they have the same color and brightness settings?

Pixel 2 is 5"

Pixel 3 is 5.5" if im not wrong. So definitely bigger screen. It just looks like a 5.5" smaller version of the pixel 2 xl.

Not sure if pixel 3 screen is better than pixel 2 personally because I have not had the chance to personally see the pixel 2 screen.

But from first impressions from people, seems the screen is pretty good for pixel 3/xl this year.

I'm still very annoyed gestures can't be disabled while every other phone can disable them. And for some reason the bottom menu bar is still there, and Apple no longer has it since it has gestures. What exactly are you trying to do Google?

Only the smaller Pixel 3 can disable, XL cannot disable from what I have seen.

Can download that hides the navigation bar if you want more screen estate. There's also another app that can simulate oneplus gesture. Alll without root.
