Sinktel just called me back, they only willing to partial waive the early recontract fee... Oh well. I guess I'll just wait a couple more months.

Weird. Am I misunderstanding something about the built in gestures? The navbar will always be around, but for some reason you also have gestures.

you mean that long horizontal bar at the bottom cannot be removed? thats odd!

It starts from ¥ 95,000 according to Google online store. They also list softbank and docomo as partners. Interestingly can't even pre-order the smaller pixel 3 anymore, only the Pixel 3 XL. Maybe the Japanese prefers smaller phones, that's why sony is still making compact series. haha.

anyway that translate to around S$1,170? It's cheaper than SG's S$1249, but IF street shops in SG sells the Pixel 3 series, it could be lower than that. That's a real possibility since i do see some shops selling the Pixel 2XL. Considering the lack of warranty, still think it's more prudent to just buy in SG. Unless you spend more time in Japan, or die die need FeliCa support for some reason.

just checked, you can order it

Read this for Google's explanation:

https://www.google.com.sg/amp/s/www...news/the-real-reason-android-p-uses-gestures/

I don't really mind the new gestures on Android P, but I do prefer the one on iPhones just because it gives the user more screen estate and isn't asymmetrical. That being said, iPhones don't have a back button so.....

There's actually an app created by XDA that's free to download and that allows you to use OnePlus phones or iPhones' gestures btw.

It's the same every year.. People always look for the cheapest place to buy a Nexus/Pixel.. But when warranty issues arises, will start to ask if it's covered by global warranty or where can the phone be repaired locally...
Interesting to see that they restocked it. But nevertheless, not much point in ordering from Japan when you can buy it locally. Haha

I rather pay more for warranty, anyway with it being sold locally, the prices will most likely drop below RRP, especially once street shops starts selling them. Haha.

I saw at Singtel ion, they don’t have gestures, all using nav bar :s11: For both models
Yup, that's what I saw at Nex as well. First day went and play, both small and XL were gesture, but the next day go see again both model's gesture got disabled. Tried looking into settings but can't find any option to do it..
