I much rather have Samsung do another Nexus-like device for them. The GALAXY Nexus and Nexus S was great Google devices.

Also All those Dolby stuff requires licenses that OEMs have to pay to get certified. At most HDR10 if they are cutting cost. (PS these things also make device price jump higher)

The Galaxy Nexus was my favorite Nexus device. 720p AMOLED display was amazing back then. The design was unique back then and the next best looking Nexus for me was the 6P.

It is highly suspect that something is going on within the Google camp wrt to all these leaks...

1. Google suddenly became the worst secret-keeper in the mobile industry.
2. Google is purposely leaking these devices to build up hype.
3. Google is purposely leaking these fake devices to troll us all.

I don’t see any other possible explanations, but please, if you have any, throw them into the comments below.

Assuming there are no other theories, I think we can all agree that Choice 1 is the least likely. This is Google we’re talking about. That only leaves Choice 2 and Choice 3.

Myself, I really hope it’s Choice 3 and this is all a big prank. I really don’t like the way this phone looks...

Bought my Nexus 6 64gb grey set for 500+ back then when 6p came out (lucky never bought the 6p...). Been going strong for the past 2, coming 3 years. Now, waiting for pixel 2 xl on big discount

Google should save themselves some grace and do an official launch soon. Otherwise, the phone will loose any sort of new launch interest.
