Google has so much money and man power. I don't believe it is gonna using notch design
The iphone X is made by apple which not long ago got valued at 1 trillion and it still uses notch. It wasnt a lack of resources, they just want as much screen as possible even if it creates weird shapes like the notch that eats into your youtube video, etc. Honestly it's only a matter of time before they notch the macbook pro as well.
The notch exists elsewhere too, not because companies lack the resources to implement a notchless design, but because it was done by apple and people like to copy apple aesthetic.
I currently use an Asus zenfone 5 and I distinctly remember when the zenfone 5 was announced this year, they even said they put notch on the zenfone because '
its what people want' and who can forget OnePlus's "learn to love the notch" and all the chinese companies jumping on notch bandwagon (in 2018 not a single major chinese company didnt have at least 1 notch phone).
This is proof that there is marketing value in making something that has a 'resemblance' to iphone style. Even you wanna talk about stuff like oppo find X... oppo themselves made notch phones in the R series, A series...
Remember that google used to have headphone jack, then after apple omitted it, suddenly in 2017 pixel lineup google also dont have headphone jack anymore. Apple had portrait mode, then suddenly in 2017 portrait mode is also a google pixel feature...
