haha. nowadays not much time for singlish version. hokkien is cannot one. My hokkien half pail water. Hahaha. But i won't be doing a full review liao. I said some time ago on this thread that if I get a bad display, I would just skip this generation of Pixel liao. Maybe 3 XL eventually, but for now I am avoiding the Pixel 3. 3 weeks of pre-order just to get a bad display. This is something that no one should be worried about when buying a new phone, especially not at this price point. Sure, still got recourse, can swap. But I end up with a colour i don't want, and wasting hours of my time.

We don't know the exact percentage of bad displays of course, but considering I've not seen anyone complaining about this issue on the 3 XL, I'll say that it's higher than it should be.

I'll still do like a quick hands on video, but that's about it. Will stick with Pixel 2. At this point, my personal recommendation is to avoid the smaller Pixel 3 until Google acknowledges the issue and promise to improve their QC. There are units out there with good display as well (since the replacement looks fine), but is it really worth the trouble? haha. I don't think it is. And this is coming from a self-professed Pixel fanboy. :s13:

Can try open chrome new incognito tab and see if the grey is uniformed? Thanks

Managed to take a few comparison shots this morning. Almost similar camera performance.

If you can stand Pixel 2 XL's screen... otherwise it's a good buy still.

And the other thing that the Pixel 3 / 3 XL has is the wide-angle selfie mode. So you gotta see whether this is something you want too.

my first set is not uniformed. haha. don't even need to use chrome's gray screen to tell. Boot up already see the obvious tint. haha.

Why stick with Pixel 2 when you've already gotten the 3? Then what's your plan with the 3? Haha

I'm not keeping the Pixel 3. I lost confidence in it already even thought the replacement was okay. It doesn't feel like a huge upgrade to me too.

The screen (provided you get a good one) looks a bit better, but not a big jump if you don't mind the 16:9 screen. And if you get a bad screen, it looks worse than the Pixel 2.

I tested the camera a bit, the performance, etc, and it's just not big enough an upgrade to justify upgrading from pixel 2. Front wide angle selfie is the main one, but I don't even take regular selfies much. Rear camera performance is similar, and Pixel 2 will be getting Night Sight too, which is probably the only camera feature I think is worth it. The rest of the upgrade are mostly incremental too. I don't like to use wireless charging too. haha.

Using the P2 and P3 side by side, and for like day to day use, it's really not a big update.

Hmmm for me my main priority of buying the pixel is the amazing camera. But the price too ex. If the last gen pixel produces the same result (with exception of wide angle front cam), then i can just save money and buy the last gen. I dont really mind the LG display from last gen though.

in the end all comes to you are basically paying for the software... and at a great cost over reliablity on their hardware which is a big question mark.

Phone screens are like TVs. By itself, one might find it's ok. But once u put two different TVs or phone screens side by side, ur eyes will tell u which one u like..

Im still undecided between the Pixel 3XL and Mate 20 Pro. Anyone tried both ? Which would you recommend?

Gary didn’t seem to keep his Mate 20 Pro for very long though:D

bloatless android experience go for pixel or OP... emui not for everyone taste even though it is quite smooth on android pie.. some apps still required manual toggle off from battery management to work properly..

I think he did apologies and clarified it in another video or comment list for that error.
U can check that out. Not too sure which one, but I came across that when I was looking at random pixel 3/3xl videos

The problem is that these facts should be checked throughly before making statements like that.

It is commendable for anyone who makes mistakes to come clean and admit their mistakes, be it for the youtubers, press, or any individuals.

But damage is still done. Many possibilities like people who came across his original claim/statement did not read or watch his follow up correction. What happens when the said person then goes around sharing what he heard with everyone he knows?

Secondly, even if the said person has read the follow up correction, he might have told the first version to people he knows but did not inform them of the corrected message he saw.

This is why fake news is such a concern. How to guarantee that the follow up actions reach the intended audience who should be corrected?

Just asking. Seriously 64gb enough space meh????

I am really very tempted to buy the pixel 3 but too bad they only have 64gb for telco set. It really feels very good to hold in the hand

Depends on user ba. What phone u currently using and how much space u currently use?
