You will see two photos after using Portrait mode. Chose the right photo and tap the adjust icon. If only one photo. You will see Pop instead.

On the next screen, choose the adjust icon and you will see Depth. Slide to adjust. Tap the down arrow to adjust blur.

ah i checked and its actually the left photo that depth appears, i.e. the original photo, but for your case its the right photo?

heard the reason for delayed status for people ordering from google play store is because cases is getting delayed so if you have your phone and case in the same order could be the reason

only see light, colour and pop, not seeing depth

Light color and pop are for normal pictures.

If u successfully took a portrait shot, when u view the image, will have two versions. One is normal other is with portrait blur effect.

Doesnt mean u switch to portrait shot means the shot will definitely be portrait shot.

Try taking pic of an object that is centered and front while others at background.

For me left is normal, right is bokeh effect. Also the bokeh one has a dot above the thumbnail.

On pixel 2 xl. I cant confirm if the pixel 3/xl would be the same or not. Maybe google did switch some things

Don't think this is the reason. I ordered my casing and phone separately. The casing status changed to delay first. One day later, the phone also changed delivery status to delayed.
