See my post above. Someone is claiming that the panel in pixel 3 can be from Samsung too? I'm not too sure of the reliability of the apps he/she was using to test

I think a lot of people are getting good panels though, just that the odds of getting a bad one is higher than what is normally acceptable (at least that's my opinion la)? But yeah, for a phone at this price tag, it's not great that consumers have to deal with this. Even if they can get it RMA/replaced if they do have issues, it's just a sucky experience.

But regular consumers who have doesn't frequent tech sites, reddit, or forums, probably won't even know about this anyway. So in the end, Google might not care. OR, it could just be like "first batch issues". And it'll get more consistent in the future. who knows. haha.

Odds look pretty high, Google should spend good money on vendors who can supply displays with little variance or error (ideally <2%). That means they will have to spend more though but this is why consumers pay the premium for such phones after all.

i tried to transfer my photo from my lg v20 by transfering it to pc then i connect my pixel 3xl to pc, i try to transfer file from pc to pixel..got problem, keep cannot trf

i did a factory reset on my 3xl to enable the data transfer which is only in the begineeing. i also cannot try, keep fail. i follow the pixel step, then keep next, at the last page which is for the file transfer, it says reconnect cable

any other way to transfer?

Yup it's pure speculation. If we can see some people get Samsung, and some get LG by using the apps to identify the display, it might lend some further support to this claim that pixel 3 might be using both.

After all, the set that was tore down in the video that shows the LG display was only 1 set? Again this is just speculation, and my wishful hoping that some pixel 3 non xl sets are using samsung displays.

if you have a dual side thumbdrive (USB-C & USB A), can use that. That's what i use for music anyway. I used to use Android File Transfer app on my mac, but it's a little buggy sometimes. Some phones just does work.

Oh, inside the packaging got a USB-C to USB-A female adapter right? That should work for regular thumbdrives too if i recall.

get all existing photos from cloud, put inside pixel.
delete all existing from google photo (cloud).
then upload from pixel?

Wow Google delivery seems disappointing though. Heng ordered from starhub on Nov 1, delivered Nov 3.

The camera is disappointing though....the color seems off . Example Japan Home logo is cyan instead of dark blue.

Basically you want o free up space? So those photos on your G Photos uploaded at original res?

From what I know no choice but to download and reupload through Pixel. If not won't count as free upload. I did that a long time back when I got the pixel. Tedious, but no choice. If you have it in albums already, easier to do album by album. But of not, and everything is just there... Can try using Google Takeout to download everything one shot.

The initial data transfer? I've never used that. But does that even work for PC -> Mobile? I thought its for Mobile -> Mobile

Alternatively do the old school way of transfer by copying from PC to Pixel after initial setup etc via file managers. Or upload to any cloud storage of your choice and download from Pixel

Have you tried HDR+ or HDR+ Enhanced? That's where the Google camera magic is.
