PSA: Warranty will only be effective in the country of purchase. If set is purchased from the US, warranty is applicable only in the US.

Have liaise with support staff a few times and they always ask where is the device purchased from. Good luck to the bros trying their luck with the US black Friday sales

not really an issue. My pixel 1 and 2 was US set. Both rmaed easily.
Go singpost -> vpost -> US rma center.
Takenote, you can't send directly to US rma center

Hi, can you explain further what do you mean by the phone cannot be sent to US rma center directly? Based on your above reply, it seems that by using vpost, it can be sent to US rma directly.

Did you incur any GST upon sending the phone back? Thanks.

Google RMA center does not allow international mail, only US mail. So you cannot send from Singapore -> to Google Rma Center.

I liased with Vpost USA to allow me to ship my pixel from Singapore to vpost USA, then they forward it to Google Rma center.

Thanks for the replies regarding the warranty. Probably shouldn't try my luck then... :o
Normally I think some folks like how I was in the past that changed phones regularly, we would just say **** the warranty. But then since this pixel 3 got so many issues, I think better don't take the risk. Pay alittle more for warranty at least when there's something wrong you can go and bang table.

Same sentiments. Since XL version has less issues, at least for me, I am willing to take the risk given that the price difference is so significant. I'm not particular about whatever uneven tint, speakers blah blah blah, as long as it works and the issue is not super major to me. I think also because I change annually, so the phone will only last me 11 mths or so, given that Google phones usually launch in Oct, so yeah "**** the warranty". I always root my phone so that's an additional risk factor there.

I had no issues with my US version Pixel 2 XL and the phones are quite well-built so no concerns. The only time I had to rma a google phone was my 6P but that was because I ran in the rain with it and I was well aware of the risks of doing that haha.

tl:dr: get the phone from US or locally based on your risk appetite.

Hahah yupp bro. Folks who changes phone regularly warranty is like a good to have but not essential. 3XL I would say go ahead but P3 I would rather pay more for a piece of mind.

Touch wood if something really happens then jialat, need to factor alot more shipping costs and stuff then in the end the phone's cost doesn't really differ much from buying local liao.

Haha, I think there are also other hidden costs like the mental torture of waiting for the phone to be shipped to and fro and the likelihood of it being lost in transit.

Hahah I have used CGW before. I would say the process is pretty streamline. Once the item reaches them you just gotta pay the shipping and settle those nitty gritty stuff like your address and what not and they will ship.

I think they used DHL which was pretty fast. Usually items reach within a few days. But P3 need play lottery game lol unless you hoot 3XL. Additional mental stress and alittle luck I would say haha.

So far the experience at CDTi has been positive for me. Once they recognise the issue, one to one exchange on the spot! Excellent customer service.

I rather play the lottery game than buy from USA, so much hassle.

Hahah which is a good thing lah. Better than repairs or getting refurbished units.

Some phones can just buy without warranty. Some is really die die also better don't try lol.

the Black Friday US Google Store deal is really hard to miss though
- but all the issues cropping up now is making me think twice of splurging the money :/

which cards are you guys using for the payment to go through? AMEX?

and is there still a timestamp issue downloading/transferring files from Android to PC?
