Default still at 16GB RAM, presumably user upgradable. Looks great but it’s even more expensive than ever. If in future I upgrade my current 2015 MBP, might cost over $4k!

I highly doubt so.

Hoped that the 3rd gen butterfly keyboard will not exhibit the same issues as gen 2 and 1

damn.

stealth launch. means going to be the same keyboard?

but that 6 core sure is juicy :lick:

Apple today announced the release of 2018 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar models with a wide range of new features, including up to six-core eighth-generation Intel Core processors, up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM, up to 4TB of SSD storage, True Tone displays, Apple T2 chips, quieter third-generation keyboards, and more.

let's wait for PetPet's review

I highly doubt so.

That’s what I thought so initially. After that I realised that you need to specify your selected specs before submitting a custom order. That should take a longer time to arrive.

dont forget to pimp up your new MBP with this:

Apple is also releasing official leather sleeves for the MacBook Pro lineup following the introduction of the same product for the 12-inch MacBook last year. The sleeves will come in black, brown, and dark blue.

Hopefully, the demo models are in the store today. I want to head down to have a look at the new keyboards.

If anyone is there today, can you update us on their availability (demo sets)?

Great upgrades overall, but still rather concerned with the keyboard. Will wait for reviews.

many complaints about those keyboard of last 2 generation. Didn't really notice til now what exactly the issue with keyboard :p

I'm still using MBP 13" late 2016 TB.

(I was wondering if anyone knows the resell value of 2 years old MBP 13" TB with 500gb SSD... that was like 2.8k SGD with no more warranty ~ I been joking with my colleague selling it for 1k SGD lol)

They said it’s a third generation keyboard, more of a re-engineered butterfly keyboard, with quieter clicks on the keyboard.

The 2nd gen butterfly keyboard, found in the 2016 and 2017 MBP with Touch Bar’s keyboard can get pretty loud (in a quiet environment, like a library) when typing.

But they didn’t mention whether it does fix, solve or improve the 2nd gen butterfly keyboard issue.

They cannot mention that they fix the issue, because they do not want to admit that there is a problem. But having mentioned that it's a "third gen" keyboard does sort of suggest that it's a "brand new" keyboard from the 2017 models.

Fingers crossed that this is it.

I personally find the butterfly switch keys to be ok (and I do like the clickier feel and larger keycaps), but the stuck keys issue is real and I encountered it myself at the Apple Store - yeah the Orchard retail store.

The caps lock was permanently on and didn't respond to any presses. Asked a store specialist to check it out and he pressed on it HARD before its light turned off.
