2026 Macbook Neo

Haha, I am actually deciding between this MacBook NEO and Mac Mini M4 (or next version of Mac Mini).

My Mac Mini M1 (8GB RAM and 256GB SSD) is still serving me well (mainly testing for cross-platform Open Source projects). My most used applications are the terminal (using homebrew), Chrome browser and simple text editor (geany or Nano or NeoVim).

In the end, I do not have requirement for mobility. So I may well wait for the next version of Mac Mini.

I used previous Mac Mini 2011 (8GB RAM and 512GB HDD, upgraded RAM from 2GB to 8GB) as the main desktop computer from 2011 to 2019 when it was dead.

I think the m4 mac mini at home is overkill for me. Neo is more suitable for me. Maybe I sell it on carousell. Haha.

8gb ram.. don't know can last how long before it cannot support the future macos and the apps.
top up abit more can get rfb m4 macbook air 256gb 16gb ram. like $1099 for the rfb mba.

might as well wait for Shopee sale I have seen lowest $1111 brand new before applying bank vouchers..

Went to see the Macbook Neo at iStudio. Build quality is exceptional for the price. Touchpad although physical feels damn good, better than the one on Lenovo Yoga definitely lol. Too bad I alr have a MBA M4 if not really a tempting purchase as a spare or casual laptop

just sold off my Macbook Air 13" M2 16GB for 900 with AC+ because it was underused as i have the Pro. But the Neo, is just too tempting.
