Anyone been to Shanghai before? How many days is recommended for first timers?

5d4n? 6d5n?

Day trip to Beijing / 1 night stay is optional, not a must.
Depends on what u wanna see in shanghai.

As a tourist, I think there are more to see in Beijing than in shanghai.

I watched quite a couple of Shanghai travel itinerary videos on YouTube le. Reason of going cos my spouse going for work trip and can stay in hotel for free, just need to pay for air fares.

Wondering what should I do, just exploring the F&B, walk around, the Bund, anything else?

Intend to do some shopping, tailoring if possible.

How are they in terms of tailoring - quality , price , speed compared to BKK (suits in 3-4 days, 2 fittings)
Shanghai cost of living is almost singapore level.... But there should be pockets of cheap stuff around

Which is a better option in November ? Hokkaido or Kyushu ?
Me don’t mind driving but would preferably avoid driving in snow
Autumn leaves is not possible in Hokkaido in November. Good chance in Kyushu during November.

You will be fine driving in Kyushu safely as snow seldom occur in Kyushu in November.

8D7N is fine for either region.

What's there to do in Shanghai apart from shopping and looking for food? Shopping aside from the mall that is at the train station, any other shopping spots to explore? Not looking at high end brands.

It should be cheaper going to Kyushu than Hokkaido in Nov.

You can consider Nagoya and drive around Gifu and Toyama Prefectures. Not much snow in Nov but can have snow in Dec.
