3570k overclocking

My 3570K overclocked to 4.4ghz with relatively high temp but i'm only using this comp for gaming, so not all the way 100% load, should be ok for 24/7 usage right?

Using offset +0.005 all the way to 4.4ghz and succeeded 2hrs of P95 blend test. Tried 4.5ghz but crash.. but seems like its more on memory fail rather than voltage, because at 4.5ghz, whenever i on my firefox it will crash, my p95/cpu-z/hwinfo also will crash. Tried increasing offset to +0.015 still the same, anyone know how to solve? Currently using all auto setting for ram (1.5v auto).

Your temp is how high ?
Just go with 4.4ghz might be due to temp crash to.

offset to +0.015 - may still be too low

Hint: Easiest is to

1st, use Fixed Vcore to determine what voltage is needed at 4.5GHz, most should do at ~1.25V. Having determined the necessary Vcore then

2nd, adjust using the Offset method to hit the same voltage. My chip needed Offset +0.03V@4.5GHz but since each chip has different VID values, you will need to experiment with the Offset value till it hits the required Vcore

Offset o'cing is not so straightforward for both mobo maker or enduser as previously stated before in my Z77 thread.

I will recommend sticking to 4.3ghz at 1.14v.. Seems stable for me... And 72 degrees with Intel burn test
Was running 4.5ghz at 1.245 but just not comfortable with 93 degrees with Intel burn test...

Currently using 4.4 as in the picture in my first post, with +0.005V offset value. A foreign fella which I followed his guide to OC commented this on my post.

"Took me quite awhile to figure out why your temps were so high (compared to vcore). You're on Ivy Bridge, not Sandy Bridge!

So first, your temps look fine. Your chip wont even throttle until 105C so at 80C max you're doing great. Remember that in all practice, no game will ever get you max temps. This is why some people even let overclocks go as high as 90C in a stresser.

Second, what you think is a memory issue is really a CPU issue. Looks like you got enough juice to boot, but if you try to put the processor to full running state (ie. opening a program) it can't handle it and it crashes. Although you did try more vcore, you probably didn't do enough. Or it could be a couple of other things.

But for now just leave it at 4.4GHz if you don't want to deal with the extra voltage.

Don't forget a 4.4GHz on an Ivy Bridge is nearly equivalent to 4.6GHz on a Sandy Bridge!! That is quite a feat with no voltage change!"

Only when required then will go to max speed, normal usage it will throttle down to 1.6GhZ most of the time

For dynamic overclocking, yea. There is another Static type of overclocking, where your PC stays at max speed all the way, even during idle / afk.
EG: Using 4.4Ghz to browse facebook?

sorry to bump up this thread, but I followed Ts's setting, my vcore hit like 1.28 or something, how is he getting so low vcore? can post full setting or somewhere to start? thanks!
