Only heard of Li Hongzhang. The Wong Fei Hung Jet LI movies did show this character briefly.

I have to google their name so how is it famous?

just means your chinese history sugx... they are all pretty important figures in recent period chinese history... maybe zhang was less famous because he was not directly connected to the taiping rebellion

dude, tat s already 200 yrs after ming, you still expect 天地会 and 反清复明 meh, in fact qing was already regarded as typical chinese dynasty by then (maybe except for the pigtails)

总之,曾国藩作为权臣,在功高震主之下仍能身名俱泰,关键在于他熟读史书,树立了正确的从政观,看淡权力的得失,引用一班正人,广纳群言,倾听幕僚的意见,认真对待反对者的声音,危难时也不树敌,巧妙周旋,明辨是非,不搞阴谋诡计,善于以退让换平安,恪守臣道,不违友道。在肃清肃顺一伙后,慈禧就曾感叹地说曾国藩为“天下第一正人”。
