Very true. KangXi and YongZheng are the 2 key era that give Qing Dynasty foundation to survive 200+ yrs.


Qing Dynasty quite suay in Qianlong era, as Qing initiated senseless wars on Burma that emptied gov coffer and reject westernization idea in late 18th century.. That cause the technology and military gap widen much more by mid 19th century.

By mid 19 century, Qing military is way too technological backward to put up any useful resistance in 1St Opium war.

The great qing is one of the worse Chinese dynasties. Since the boxer rebellion, their power super weak while their officials very corrupt. They are lucky the west never finish them off before ww2 start

These officials saboed Emperor Guangxu which caused territories of China to be seized by foreign invaders! Guangxu is a fool who did not let Cixi intervene in state matters resulting in foreign invasion and huge national debt!

Surprisingly, Qing Dynasty are often rated third among all the dynasties in China's history (after Han and Tang dynasties).

One reason is that China's size doubled after the Qing dynasty.
