Re

Yup, those "Mastered In 4K" blurays are ultimately still 1080p (FHD) only!

Sure but when you play them on UHD TV using Blue-ray player with upscaling technology then the difference will be clear as compared to playing them on normal FHD TV

You'll sure to enjoy the difference

Re

From what I know, none as of now.

SAMSUNG One Connect Evolution Kit (2014) for the upgrading of the F9000 UHD TV has it

Samsung One Connect Evolution Kit SEK2500U | TV Accessories

SONY UHD TVs also support lah

https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answe...4k-ultra-hd-tvs-support-4k-streaming-content?

I believe most latest UHD TVs released this year and onwards will have HDCP 2.2 supported in addition to having HDMI 2.0, MHL 3.0 etc

Which manufacturer wants to be left behind in the race?

Not sure what is meant by "..there won't be any true 4K.." and "...there will NEVER be a true 4K bluray player..".

Of course there WILL be. The standards have just been finalised - True 4K blurays (AND True 4K bluray players) will be available for purchase by Xmas 2015

As for upgrading a TV, I would rather buy one WITH HDCP 2.2 than pay another $300 to $400 just to upgrade for HDCP later

According to another SA, he also told me the same thing.

He said that it's take about 100 GB of storage space per hour in order to record one True 4K movie.

This is more for the early model of the 4k TV like the SAMSUNG F9000 which comes with the One Connect Evolution Kit (2014) for the upgrade

I believe SAMSUNG 4K TVs released this year and onwards will have the HDCP 2.2 support comes with it

I think it all depend on if you are those who always chasing for latest tech and willing to pay for a high price as compare to those who prefer to wait and buy later at a cheaper price.

Anyway, there is really no end to new tech.

They've already moved.

Leading edge movies and studios now shoot at 6K, edit on 5K screens and produce 4K movies.

True, the first thing that must move to 4k are film makers.
Yet no film are captured in 4k yet so maybe it will take
at least another decade or so before 4k is relevant.

Quite true.

Remember to consider your viewing distance when buying a 4k tv... If you are not prepared to buy a big set, then you need to sit much closer.. And if all we watch is free to air channels, it doesn't make much sense.

Sure but you still need a true 4K tv, no?. Otherwise I doubt playing a true 4K blu ray movie on a UHD TV will make a significant difference for the difference in the number of pixels between a true 4K tv and a UHD tv is minimal

Tbh, the practical difference bet 4k and UHD is minimal:
No, TV makers, 4K and UHD are not the same thing | ExtremeTech

I m sure u can play back true 4k blurays on the 4k tvs being sold today provided there is hdcp 2.2 support all along the chain

4k blurays will be demonstrated at CES 2015, or that is what the rumours say.
