4K video playing problem

lol all focusing on the cpu and gfx but never ask the 4k video in ssd or hdd

if i had to choose 1 to upgrade only then would be cpu first i believe?

CPU is dated and will bottleneck RX580.
Upgrade CPU to Intel/Ryzen depending on your budget, GPU
at later stage.

FYI I still have a old AMD Phenom II X 940 with Geforce GTX560 graphics.
Full HD is the most it can handle but not 4K for that generation PC.

hmm talking about upgrade, i'm also thinking between a qhd 144hz monitor vs 4k 60hz

i rarely play fps games, mostly mmo like wow or singleplayer adventure games. and quite often use my pc for watching tv/movies

rarely upgrade also, usually once every long while as perhaps u all can see

try go vlc tools under preference setting.

go to input/codec tab

choose DirectX Video Acceleration (DXVA) 2.0 under hardware-accelerated decoding.
